Chapter Seven

It didn't take long after rick left for addy to start balling her little eyes out. Shane is walking back and forth out the front of the R, trying to get her to calm down "shush baby girl, it's ok. Daddy will be right back, shuuuush!" He pats her back gently. Her crying started to get harder and she started coughing in between trying to take breaths and crying. Shane becomesalarm by the sound of her cough. It sounds worse then ever.

Carl comes over to them quickly to try and help. "Hey Bub, any idea's?" Carl thought hard then had and idea "yeah! I'll be right back." Shane watch's as Carl runs off towards to tents. Shane hoped he had a good idea.

After a couple seconds, Carl came running back holding one of the photo albums. Shane realised his plan and hopped it would work. Carl came up to them and sat down against the side of the RV. He looked up at Shane holding addy and held his arms out. Shane bent down to sit addy between Carl's legs then sat down beside the pair and grabbed the photo album.

"She loves seeing the pictures "Carl said as he wrapped his arms around his crying sister. Shane opened the album up to a photo of rick Lori and Carl smiling happily togeather. Addy's tears quickly stop as she is distracted by the pictures. Addy is looking right at her daddy. She wants him to come back.

Addy starts patting the pictures with rick in them and looking back at Carl. "Don't worry addy, your daddy will be back real soon." Shane says as he rubs some of the tears off her cheeks. As he continues to turn the pages he noticed there wasn't any with addy yet. He frowned knowing why. He doesn't really understand the issues Lori has with addy.

Addy slams her little hand down on a page before Shane can turn it. He looks at the picture she's tapping and see's a picture of addy Carl and rick from her second birthday. Carl smiles at this "yep, that was your second birthday, we had so much fun that day. It was funny when you started smooshing cake into dad's face."

Carl and Shane laugh remembering how much effort she put into it as if she was making a painting on ricks face. Addy clapped along seeing them both laugh. As they've laughter dies down, addy leans in and kisses the photo before turning around to cuddle into Carl and yawning.

Shane smiles sadly down at the two beside him. He wants them to see him like that. He wants to be everything they need. He closed the album and stands up. Carl takes the photo album from Shane while Shane picks up addy and walks into the RV to put her down for a nap since all that crying has made her sleepy.

Carl put the photo album back when Lori walks into the tent. "Hey baby, what were you doing with the photos?" She brushes his hair back. Carl hugs her and looks up "just looking at the photos with Shane and addy.... hey mum ..... why are you always mad at her? She's just a baby, what ever she did she didn't mean it. Dad says she really doesn't understand yet when she does something wrong and it's our job to help her learn, not be mad."

Lori clenches her jaw at being asked about addy. "Don't worry about it sweet. Now I want you to go do your studies with the others. Go on now" Lori push's him out of the tent. Carl looks back as he walks away not liking that she didn't answer.

Lori sighs deeply, she wants rid of that child and soon or she feels like she's gonna lose her husband and her son. Shane walks past and side eyes her as he makes his way to the woods. Lori waits a few seconds before following. She thinks 'at least Shane won't leave me for her.'

Night has fallen, everyone is sitting around the camp fire after having finished there dinner, they are all worried about the group that went back for Merle. They should have returned by now. Addy is refusing to eat again because her daddy isn't there. She had eating her lunch but now is refusing. Shane has been trying for an hour to get her to eat "come on sweetheart. Your daddy wants you to eat, he wanted me to help you. Please just one bite?"
