Jace isn't here yet today. Normally he's the first one here, it's almost lunch and he hasn't arrived.

"Are you Okay Mr.Mcloughlin?" Sam asked

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be. Are you Okay? You look upset?" I asked

"Jace isn't here yet. This isn't like him."

"I know. But he could just be sick." I reminded Sam

   "I don't think that's it." Sam sighed

   "Why not?" I asked

"Sean. Have you ever been in the situation where telling someone about something would could save someone you know, but doing so would mean breaking their trust?" Sam asked

   "I have yes."

   "What did you do?"

"I told someone. It's better to have them safe and mad. They can get over being mad, they can't get over being hurt or worse." I sighed

Just then Jace walked in the room. Black eye, fat lip, and several other injuries. There's no way this was from the fight. Jace only got pushed.

"Sorry I'm late. I slept in." He said taking his seat next to Sam

I wanted to question him for a moment. I wanted to ask where the bruises came from. But I decided not to. Not here at least. Soon the lunch bell rang and Mark arrived. He saw Jace and came running over.

"Sean, you can't. We can't. What the hell is going on with that boy?" He asked

   "He won't tell me."

"Talk to Sam. I need to talk to Jace. This isn't okay."

"I agree Mark but you can't force him to tell you." I sighed

"Watch me." He said leaving the room

"Mr.McLoughlin, we need to talk. It's about the friend." Sam sighed

   "Okay. What's going on?"

"Jace's stepdad. I was over once, and his stepdad came home. Jace made me hide in his closet. While his stepdad beat him. And... He did other things. He found out Jace is gay. Called him names." Sam shivered

"Its okay Sam." I said hugging him

"You don't understand Mark, Nobody understands!" I heard Jace yell

"I should go help him. I have a favour to ask you Sam."

   "Okay?" He questioned

"Can you write down exactly what you just told me? You can write more if you want, but I need no less, Okay?" I asked

"If it will save Jace." He agreed

I left the room and went into the hall. Mark and Jace were curled up togeather, Jace clinging to Marks shirt, crying. I sat next to them, rubbing his back. He jumped at first, them he realized it was me.

"Sean, I can't tell anyone. He'll hurt me." Jace cried

"I'll keep you safe. He can't hurt you anymore if you tell someone." I told Jace

"How. I still have to go home."

"Not if you don't want to." Mark told him

"Okay. I'll tell Mrs.Charlott." He agreed. "But I need to go home and get stuff. If I don't go home today he might break what I have left. Can I please tell her tomorrow?"

"I wish you'd tell her today. Mark and I can take you home to get your things, and then you can tell her. You said he's usually not home during lunch break, right?" I asked

   "Okay." He agreed

We left the school, taking Jace home. He went inside to quickly gather his things.

"Are you okay Mark?" I asked

"Yeah, this just reminds me of Thomas." He sighed

"Yeah. I know it's hard. But it'll be okay." I told him

"Wait. How are you functioning with this. How does this not remind you of your family?" He asked

"It does. But someone saved me once, I figured I'd save him." I said kissing Mark

Soon Jace was back and we went back to the school. He told Mrs.Charlotte and talked to a social worker.

"Mr.McLoughlin, Mr.Fichbach, can we place him with you. You two were foster parents in Ireland and I think you'd be an amazing fit for Jace. Regardless of being his teacher, he speaks highly of you on a personal level." The social worker asked

"Y-Yeah. But what about his mom? He mentioned he hasn't seen her in a While?" Mark asked

"She, she took her own life. Our guess is yeasterday. We went to the house after we were called to arrest the stepfather and we found her. I'm very sorry. We already talked to Jace."

   "Sean." Jace cried hugging me

"Shhhh. It's okay now Jace." I said hugging him

"I'll leave you three." She smiled

"So I'm going home with you?" Jace asked

   "Yeah." I smiled

"Jace!" Sam yelled as we finally left the school. "I'm so glad you're okay."

"I'm sorry I forced you to make that choice." Jace said kissing Sam

"It's okay. Mr.McLouchlin helped make the choice." Sam smiled

"I will never be able to say his last name." Jace laughed

"So, going home with The Markiplier." Sam laughed

"He's in our class every day. It's not that special anymore." Jace laughed

"Who are you talking about. I will always be special!" Mark yelled laughing

"Yeah, and you'll always be gay as fuck." Jace laughed

"Hey, you haven't even seen me in my gayest." Mark stated

"I'm pretty sure I don't want to see you ridding my teacher." Jace said causing everyone to laugh

"Hey man, just saying, that janitors closet is usually empty." Mark stated

"Mark Edward!" I said in a scolding tone

"Thanks Mark, but we have the bathroom." Sam said winking

"Oh my God, I don't wanna hear this." I laughed

"Come on, we have to go." Mark laughed
