"Are you sure you're ready to go back?" Mark asked

"I'll be fine Dad. I have my mask, and all my other stuff. I'll be okay." Jace reassured him

"If you get tired or anything you call me." Mark said firmly

"Dad, Pa will be there, I will be fine. It's only 3 hours." Jace reminded Mark

"I love you." Mark said kissing Jace's head

"I love you too Dad, I'll see you at lunch." Jace smiled

I drove to the school. This is Jace's first week back to school and the class is excited. They all know that if they're even a little sick they are to stay home and all that fun stuff. Soon the bell rang and the class began to file in the room.

"Its good to see you Jace!" Thomas greeted him

"Glad you're doing better Dork." Maria laughed

"Jace, it's good to have you back." Sam smiled hugging him

"Alright, let's get to work." I smiled

Soon it was recess and Jace was outside with his friends. That boy makes me nervous. He does not want to take it easy. I love him but Jesus, he's gonna hurt himself.

"What are you looking at yah bald faggot!" I heard a student yell

   "N-nothing."

"Oh, before you didn't mind snapping at me, what happened? Daddy couldn't protect you?" He laughed pulling away Jace's air tank

"No, please, I can't breath." Jace begged

I was running towards the kids. The next thing I knew Sam was throwing a punch at the student, and the principal was on her way as well. I dropped to help Jace and insure he was Okay. Sam came over after the principal split up the fight.

"Are you okay babe?" Sam asked

"Yeah. I'm fine." He said coughing

"Jace, do you want me to call your father?" I asked

He nodded as I helped him to a bench.

"Sean, I'm so sorry about this." Mrs.Margret said

"With all respect, I understand you're my boss. However this wouldn't have happened had you listened to Jace about Travis and handled the situation." I said to her

"You're right. It's just hard to deal with the other students when issues arise with students in your program." She sighed

"That's not an exuce. Every single day at least one of my students is assaulted, weather it be verbally or physically. Every single day one of them comes to me crying or goes home early because of your students. If this school was serious about their zero tolerance on bullying than it would extend to every student. No matter what kind of courses they were taking." I told her as I watched students line up

"Mr.McLoughlin, you're way out of line. This is a conversation for my office, not in front of the students." She said firmly

"He's right! I'm tired of being treated like crap just because of the program I'm in!" Sam yelled

"I've lost 3 friends this year due to suicide caused by bullying at this school!" Another yelled

"Zero tolerance is bullshit!" Someone yelled

"We will discuss this later." She said turning and walking away

"Pa, she could fire you." Jace sighed

"I don't care if I can make her realize how full of shit she is." I told Jace

"Is he Okay?" I heard Mark yell

   "I'm fine Dad." Jace smiled

"Your bruised." Mark sighed kneeling next to us

"I'm fine. Can we just go home." Jace sighed

"Yeah. Let's get your things." Mark said in a worried tone

After recess we were back in the classroom. My lesson plans were about to change.

"So, I originally had something else planned, but I think biased on the events at recess a change is in order. For the next week, we are going to create Anti-bullying videos. You can interview students, or yourself, and create a video with stories of students so we can see how many people we know are affected by this." I Explained

"Can we interview kids who are on free periods today?" Cameron asked

"Yeah, go for it. Do whatever you need to. However these videos will be going further than this classroom so you need to make sure the students are aware with this and each of you will have papers to get concent from the student and their parents." I told them

"Why are we doing this?" Hannah asked

"Because there are staff members in this school who don't believe we have a bullying problem. So we need to show them that there's a problem. They can't fix what they don't know is broken." I told her

"Couldn't you be fired for this?" Dean asked

   "Probably." I answered honestly

I heard complaints going through the room and instantly felt my heart sink. They didn't give two fucks.

"Guys, didn't you see what happened to Jace? This isn't the first time and you all know It! I mean, Travis could have killed him and none of you even care because your all sitting there with yours heads up your asses! Fucking look around! Have none of you notices Shauna is gone? That Jake is gone? Or Jordan? Gabriel? Not a single one of you went to Greg's funeral when he hung himself, or visited Jace when he attempted! You know why? Because you felt guilty. You watched them get bullied every single day and did nothing! So fucking shut your mouths, and do the God damn video. You could save a life." Shante yelled

   "Thank you Shante." I said

I'm shocked. His is the first time I've ever seen Shante speak in front of the class. She visited Jace at the hospital and cried on his shoulder at Greg's funeral. Greg was her boyfriend at the time. She's had a really had time dealing with his loss but she's getting better. As students left to begin their project she came to my desk.

"S-sorry for my outburst Sean." She said softly

"I think it was amazing. It's the truth, and I think they needed to hear that." I smiled

Shante hugged me and then ran off with her friend. I smiled knowing that she was Okay, and seeing the look of accomplishing something on her face. This is why I became a teacher.
