"I think she's dead."
"She isn't dead."
"She's been out for 2 hours now."
"Let's just face the fact that she's dead."
I slowly started to wake up and come yo my senses. Although my arms and legs felt a little stiff I was able to move them around. I completely opened my eyes and looked around. Kent, Finn and Anna stood way too close for my liking.
"Back up weirdo's." I said as I unbuckled my seat belt.
"See she isn't dead." exclaimed Anna as she took a few steps back.
"I was sleeping. You guys weren't the ones who were running down hall and in air ducts." I said as I stood up and stretched my tired and aching bones.
"We got out and are a few galaxies away. What now?" asked Kent crossing his arms.
I myself was unsure at what we should do. We got out which was the biggest situation at hand. I fell as though there was something that we had to do. But I couldn't put my finger on it.
"I really wish I could've seen the council members faces when we blasted out of there." said Finn looking over to the dash board of the queen jet. I yawned once more and began walking deeper into the jet. There were computers and monitors against the walls of the jet. and in the middle was a huge seat where I guess the captain of the jet would sit.
in the right hand corner I spotted a room. The walls were made out of glass so I could see right through it. It had a Long 12 person table and some chairs. I decided to walk in and seat myself down at the head of the table.
Since we weren't in any danger at the moment I started to empty out all of my stashing places. The piece of crumpled paper rested in my hands. I opened it once more and stared down at the words that would define what we chose to do next.
Find Trent
☆
After my realization I had to come up with a plan of action and I did of course, but after another long shower. I dressed casual in a black T-shirt tucked into the front of my black ripped jeans and my chunky laced up heals. I pulled on a leather jacket due to the temperature in the jet. We stole it yes, but it doesn't mean we know anything about it.
I went on a scavenger hunt and was able to salvage up a paper back manual of two thousand pages.
Lucky when I made my way back to the bridge I didn't have to go hunting to find the others. They were in the glass room enjoying sandwiches.
I walked into the room throwing the book down onto the table in front of me and sat down next to Anna and across from Finn.
Anna slid a plate to me which seemed to have half a sandwich on it. I wasn't complaining, food is food. I slid the plate closer to me and scooped up the sandwich.
Finn reached over and took the thick book and flipped it open to a random page.
"Planning on doing some light reading?" Finn joked.
"There are a lot of things we don't know about this yet. I Suppose they didn't name it the Queen jet because of it's size." I said through a mouth full of sandwich.
"I guess so." said Finn flipping to the next page of the book.
"Our next move is to find a guy named Trent. I have no knowledge of this guy but my guess is that he's important and useful." I said finishing off my lunch.
"If you could give a guess what would it be?" asked Kent.
"If bert sent us to find him, then he knows this man and has been keeping in contact with him. Bert is stupid but he is clever." I said standing up.
"How do you suppose we find him?" pipped up Anna.
"The jet has a facial recognition device." said Finn squinting over a page of the book.
"Get on it." I said. Finn nodded and walked toward the door to leave. I looked over to my little pile of items I had in my pockets and noticed that I was missing a dagger. I looked over at Finn and noticed his steps were rushed. "Before that though, leave the dagger." He instantly froze at the doorway.
"but-"
"leave it Finn, you'll have time for that later. I need you at your best." I said. He about faced and took the dagger out from his boot and placed it on the table before walking out.
"While he does that, I'll try to figure out the other controls." said Anna stuffing her face with the last sandwich.
"You. Behind controls? No thanks, I wan't to live a little longer." said Kent leaning back in his seat.
"Yes me. I'm the one who figured out that there was an auto pilot button." she defended.
"You didn't figure anything out. You just started pressing buttons." scoffed Kent.
"I managed to keep us in the air didn't I? I'll be off now." she said standing up and strutting out of the room.
Kent eyed me and sighed. "So what do you want me to do." he said.
"That guard we brought with us, is he still alive?" I asked.
"Injured but none the less." he said.
"All the guards have tracking devices. Get rid of it, then find out as much information as you can about the council and what happened while we were locked up." I said. He nodded and walked towards the door I called after him. "Don't kill him yet. Hold your urges back."
"So you get to go around killing, but when I want to have my way with a mere guard you don't let me." he said.
I pulled my feet onto the tab;e and crossed them at the ankles. "I held back my killing and did least damage as possible. So If a serial killer like myself can hold back from shedding blood then so can a mere sadist." I stated. I could practically feel his eye as he walked out the room.
I looked around the empty room. Is this what it's going to be like for now on? Just us out there killing mutants until we drop? I knew that bert was lying about that freedom thing. We're criminals with a high level of blood lust.
We'll never be free. Maybe from the council, but not from our own minds.
True freedom for us will be when we take our last breaths, when those heavy weights of deaths on our shoulders vanishing, and when faces don't haunt us in the night while we sleep.
The real reason we took up this job was to see the world one more time. Even if it may be our last. We will fight for as long as we need to, and as hard as we need to.
Nothing will stop us. And I'll make sure of it.
