The same three plain grey walls surrounding me, the only light I get is when the light bulb in the cellar turns on allowing the light to shine through the bars. At the moment it's pitch black, and nothing can be seen, but I know my other three companions are in the adjacent cells.
We were all arrested and sentenced to life because of our crimes, I'm a serial killer, Anna is an assassin, Kane is a sadist, and Finn, well he's a masochist. We're considered the worst of the worst. And frankly, I see nothing wrong with it.
We've been locked up for such a long time and I've lost count of the years that have gone by. Since we only have the company of each other we became closer then we were before.
I know that must be weird, four delinquents that have serious problems are friends?
I even like the sound of it, it has a nice ring to it.
We've never once tried to break out, it was good that we we're isolated from the rest of the human population. We didn't have to worry about whether we would wake in the morning, or wake up with the face of family member you recently killed.
I couldn't sleep right now, because today was different, something was going to happen today, and I had a real good feeling about it. Call it a sixth sense.
"I have a good feeling about today. I can feel it in my gut." I hear Finn say from his cell on my right.
"I was thinking the same thing." I said.
"Then that feeling must be going around." I hear Anna's excited voice. She begins her usual morning humming that we've all gotten accustomed to.
I sat facing the wall with my feet propped up onto the wall crossing them at the ankle as I pick at my long finger nails. A few hours passed by and I had my arms crossed behind my head with my eyes closed waiting for the inevitable to happen.
"The warden is coming, and he's not alone." said Kent. He always had the better hearing, I find it kind of weird for a sadist to have the best hearing. I thought all the screams he caused would weaken his eardrums or something, but they only made them stronger, and in a strange way and twisted way, I admired it.
As if on cue the locks start to click open. "Wake up you muts," said the loud and booming voice of the warden. The bright white lights flicker on and I feel the warmth of them against my face. It's the closest thing to sunlight I will ever feel, so I bask it it's warmth for as long as I can.
"Feeding time already?" asked Finn in a joking tone.
"You know the deal, food is only on Mondays and Thursdays." said the warden. We don't eat as often because I believe they want to starve us to the brink of death.
"Well, well, well, who do we have here?" asked Anne, sounding like she might explode of happiness. Anne was always the happiest one in the whole group, I never understood why.
"A little too excited aren't we?" asked the warden,
"It's not our fault that we become interested when we get to see a face that hasn't already looked like they've been run over by a cement truck repeatedly." I said.
"Who are these four and why are they locked so deep from all the others?" asked an unfamiliar male voice.
"These are the four most notorious delinquents in the galaxy, it took a while to capture them but we did, and ever since then the galaxies and planets have been in peace, not in constant fear of being their next victim." said the warden.
"Are you sure these are them, they look like harmless young adults." said the same male voice.
"Looks can be deceiving. If you let them free around a group of people, they go wild." said the warden.
