Chapter 18

The next few months were hard and by hard they were extremely difficult. No one in the pack realized how much they relied on their Alpha. Not until he was gone.

Jaehyun was trying very hard to keep from having to raid, but sadly Yoongi was demanding it. "Jaehyun, I understand this is not easy, none of this is easy. But you need to figure something out before our people starve to death. Our families need to be fed."

Jaehyun ran his hand through his hair, "Uncle Yoongi, I never asked for this. I just can't lead a whole pack without my father. What if everyone dies because of me? I can't live with this."

Yoongi placed his hand slowly on Jaehyun's shoulder, "Jae, I see where you and your father differ. The thing with Jungkook was he never cared about anyone but himself. Not until your mother came along. And then you and your brother."

Jaehyun looked at the Beta, "Well, I guess he never really did huh? He left when the going was rough. He didn't stay and faced his problems. He just ran away with his tail between his legs."

Jaehyun stood up from his father's old desk, "I have to go deal with something Yoongi-" The Beta grabbed Jaehyun's arm, "Listen Jae, I knew your father better than anyone in this pack. He never ran from his problems. Trust me, he did this for a reason. The real question is, do you trust him?"

Jaehyun just stared at Yoongi, he didn't know how to answer that. Did he trust his father? His father told his mother he would come back, but it had been months. He didn't want to think about this right now.

Taehyung sat on the small bench that overlooked the flower garden. Soon it would be winter and the flowers were starting to die. Taehyung sighed and closed his eyes. Thoughts still filling his head, but mostly memories.

"Petal...what are you doing sitting out here alone?" Jungkook walked over to the said Omega who was currently younger. The garden was blooming with tall sunflowers, the white bench was not chipped and cracking.

"Just thinking Wolfie. Just thinking..." Jungkook laughed as he sat down beside his mate, placing his hand on his waist. "Well hopefully good things." Taehyung smiled as he placed his head on his mate's shoulder. "Of course."

"Wanna tell me?"

"I was just thinking about when we have pups of our own someday...."

"Oh yeah?" "Yeah...I think you will be a great father Jungkook."

Jungkook laughed, "If anything you will be the best mother ever." He ran his hand up and down Taehyung's back.

"I don't know Wolfie...what if they don't like me?" Jungkook pulled Taehyung into his lap, "Taehyung they will love you and I know this because we will give them so much love, that they can help but love us back just as much."

Taehyung giggled, " Oh stop Wolfie..." Jungkook started tickling Taehyung, causing him to start laughing, "Jungkook stop it! I can't take it!" Jungkook stopped and placed a kiss on Taehyung's forehead.

"I love you Taehyung...and our future pups. More than anything."

A single tear rolled down the omega's cheek, a single black line to show for it.

" I miss you so much Jungkook. Please...I need you."

The sun had set, the moon shining brightly through the woods. Taehyung had just made his rounds, kissing Haechan on the head. "Good night baby boy. Lucas will be back before you know it."

Haechan let his mother wipe the wet tears that had been falling from his eyes. Lucas and Jaehyun had left to go on a raid, which was freaking out the omegas. They were scared of what was going to happen without them here, but they tried not to think about it.
