The day dragged on with me glancing at her every now and then. I don't even care about the rumors. Even so, I can't get to her because I don't deserve her. What I must do is ask for forgiveness and I'm doing that through distancing myself.
"If you just sit there, nothing will happen." A voice says.
"What, Yohan?" I ask annoyingly.
"Dude, you have to explain what you did. She needs you to explain to her why you went through all of that. And there are two ways you can take, it's either you continue to distance yourself like this, or you take a step forward to prove and convey you are true.
Before I could answer, I notice Yui heaving breaths. I hear the rapid beeps of her watch. I immediately stand up and she collapses on her desk. I rush to her and carry her. I see Yohan nod at me.
I run as fast I could to the nurse's office. Please don't leave me, Yui.

I recall what me and Yui's father talked about that night.
"Kaito, do you love my daughter?" He asks.
I was shocked that I couldn't answer.
He chuckles, "I know you do. If you didn't why would you go through all the beatings?"
"But I hurt her. I said mean words to her."
"Did you mean them?"
"Of course, not. I had to say them so she wouldn't marry me at all."
"Would you marry her if that wasn't the case?"
Without hesitating, "I would."
"See, that. I forgive you Kaito. Because I know you care. I like you for my daughter because you didn't want to involve her in all these business world. I like you because you were just like me."
"What?"
"Her mom followed me around even though I was arranged to marry someone else. I didn't want to hurt her so I said mean things. Man, I missed her because her care was different. Her love was the best. But I had to push her away or else my parents would come after her. Then I rebelled. I got beat up more than you did. I never told them why. So I hurt the one I love so my parents wouldn't hurt her. I left and got back. I pursued her again since my parents finally didn't care. It was hard because this time I was really afraid she wouldn't see me again or trust me again. But she gave me a second chance. Look how it turned out."
I see him smile, "Kaito, son, please love my daughter the way you did before. The way you were kids. I understand you and I'm sure my daughter will understand if you tell her everything. I must tell you though we both made the same mistake."
I look at Yui's father and he continues, "We underestimated them. I should have told her everything, atleast that's what she said to me when I ran after her. And you, Kaito, should have told my daughter. Life's too short for frail egos after all."
