The wedding ring

Ellie's POV

" So Ellie, how did you met Raymond?" Tanong ni Alexa while we quietly partake our meal sa restaurant na malapit sa shooting location namin.

"I just met him today" tipid kong sagot.

"Right! she just met me today but I already knew her back in college" dagdag ni Raymond.

" And how about Zach? How did you met him?" tanong nya ulit and it made me stop chewing my food especially when it reminded me of how we actually met. It was really a nightmare.

"ahhh... Probably a workshop called mind your own business, what do you think?" I said sarcastically. Masyado na kasi syang nangingi-alam.

"Off course business, just business.." she said as she chuckles. " ano pa bang ine-expect ko? I know naman na sobrang boring ng buhay mo" dagdag nya bago nagpatuloy kumain.

"See? there's nothing interesting" dagdag ko while glaring at her.

Ilang sandali may biglang tumawag kay Raymond.

" Excuse me, I need to take this call" paalam nya at lumabas muna.

"Me too, wash room lang ako" paalam din ni Alexa.

And now, kaming dalawa nalang ang naiwan sa mesa... what a good timing. Life is torturing me.

"How are you these past few days?" Tanong nya agad.

"Do I really have to answer that question when obviously I'm not okay at all?" I asked sarcastically.

"You don't have to kung ayaw mo" he said while staring at me habang kumakain ako.

"You're still wearing that ring" sabi nya while staring at my right hand, then I suddenly realize that I'm always wearing this and I haven't taken it off yet.

"Ahh... eto ba? It was so tight to take off, I can't imagine kung paano to nasuot sa daliri ko...but don't worry it's just a ring, don't make it a big deal" paliwanag ko naman.

"So how's the annulment papers?" tanong ko.

"I haven't sign it... I mean... I won't sign it" sagot nya ng diretso.

"Akala ko ba nagkaliwanagan na tayo? Sign it para matapos na bago pa malaman ng media, baka maging issue pa" sagot ko naman.

"I don't care about it right now... basta ang alam ko... I will never sign that paper" He said and it really pisses me.

I want to slap him or spill my drinks to him but I can't. people are watching so I decided to suppressed all my anger and excuse myself papuntang washroom.

Kumukulo ang dugo ko sa sobrang pagpipigil, napaisip din ako sa sinabi nya, bakit hindi nya pa pinipirmahan? bakit pa nya pinapatagal? napabuntong hininga nalang ako. Gusto ko na talaga matapos to.

ilang sandali, nakakita ako ng hand soap sa tabi ng faucet kaya ginamit ko to while trying to take off the ring but it's really hard. Kahit anong pilit ko ayaw matanggal, kailangan ko pa atang putulin yung daliri ko para maalis to. And now I'm wondering kung paano napasok sa daliri ko ang singsing nato.

Di nagtagal ginive up ko narin, namumula na kasi ang daliri ko so I decided na bumalik na muna sa mesa namin pero pagkalabas ko ng washroom Zach was already waiting outside.

"Bakit ka nandito? sinusundan mo ba ako?" tanong ko sakanya pero dinedma nya ako instead he was staring at my fingers kaya agad kong tinago to.

"Are you trying to take that off?" tanong nya sakin mang mapansing namumula na ang mga daliri ko

"Di pa ba obvious?"

He then gently held my hand as he took a step closer to me, pushing me to the wall while he's staring straight into my eyes, he run his fingers through my hair , wrapping his left arm around my waist.

"What are you trying to do?" I whispered while he looked deeply into my eyes.

"Stay still" he whispered then he began pressing his lips against mine gently and I was too late to realize that .... that ... I'm already kissing him back.

Natulak ko sya at nasampal bigla when reality struck me, then I saw him holding the ring, I didn't even realize that he already took it off from me.

"You're crazy!" sagot ko at hindi na nakapanlaban pa.

Since the business is done, agad na akong umalis at bumalik sa table namin while I am still stuck wandering of what the hell happened, how did I ended up kissing him back? gosh!

"Ellie? What took you so long?" bungad ni Raymond sakin.

"Aalis na ako, I have an important meeting" paalam ko sakanila at nagmadaling umalis.

"Are you sick?" Tanong ni Raymond habang sinusundan ako palabas ng hotel but I ignore him.

Good thing may nakasalubong akong taxi kaya agad akong pumara para sumakay but Raymond suddenly grab my arm.

"Ihahatid na kita" he said but...

"No thanks... I can manage" tipid kong sagot bago tuluyang umalis.

Wait? did I just runaway? wala naman akong kasalanan ah? tsaka bat ako pinagpapawisan ng malamig?
Haist!

"Kuya palakasan mo nga yung aircon" demand ko nalang sa driver.

Zach's POV

Reminiscing the first night I met Ellie, she never resisted just like the first time we did it. It's only right that I took this ring back because this was meant for Zoie anyway.

Bumalik na ako sa mesa namin and I saw her rushing to leave and that Raymond is also running after her.

"Nandito ka na pala, Ellie and Raymond left first, they probably have something to do.. it's just us now" Alexa said.

"Kailangan ko nadin umalis, I still have thing's to do." Paalam ko din sakanya at agad na umalis.

While on my way home, Amber sent me the new address of Zoie at malapit lang ito sa location ko ngayon kaya naisipan kong dumaan nalang sa condo unit nya.
I know that she didn't left in New York but she still ditched the wedding at hindi ko sya masisisi sa ginawa nya.

I rang the doorbell at agad naman ito binuksan. She didn't expect me to come kaya ikinagulat niya rin ang pagdating ko.

"May I come in?" Tanong ko and she just nodded.

"I hope you're living well" I said after seeing her tidy unit.

Her baby bump is also finally showing up.

"I'm sorry Zach" she said looking depressed and guilty.

" You don't need to be sorry, wag ka na din magpakastress para sa baby mo" paliwanag ko.

"I can't bare seeing you taking responsibility of me kahit hindi naman dapat" she said and started crying.

"Naintindihan naman kita eh, but I still hope that you'll never reject my help, despite of everything, I still care about you.. alam mo yan diba?" Pagkaklaro ko sakanya at agad nya naman akong niyakap.

" Thank you Zach... Thank you sa lahat-lahat"

Agad ko naman kinuha ang singsing sa bulsa ko para ibalik sakanya. This ring finally found its real owner.

"It's up to you kung ano ang gagawin mo dyan. I don't have any reason to keep it" paliwanag ko at tinanggap nya naman ito.

"I never heard any news na hindi natuloy ang kasal natin, okay lang ba ang lahat?"she asked.

"I married someone else that night" tipid kong sagot and she's obviously surprise.

"What?? How did it happen?" Tanong nya.

"Crazy right?? And I'm still working out that marriage.... I want to make it work" dagdag ko.
