Chapter Fifteen

Yeji's POV

"I like you!" Ryujin sputtered out, closing her eyes in fear of being rejected.

I saw a petite black-haired figure running, followed by a blonde chasing after her in the corner of her eye. But I didn't look in that direction.

"Ryu?" I asked.

She hummed in response.

"I'm afraid I might have to say this as a 'no'." I replied politely.

I saw her tears dripping on her skirt, and she held her bag tightly than before. I grew sad, and got frustrated at myself.

I hate making people feel heartbroken. I hate rejecting. I hate breaking people's hearts.

"But, this doesn't mean we won't be friends anymore." I smiled at her.

She slowly looked up, still crying.

"R-really? Most girls I have confessed to are my best friends before. They reject me and acted like we don't know each other..." Ryujin trailed off...

I chuckled softly and wiped her tears.

"I'm not like them, Ryu. Besides, can I give you a hug?" I said.

She nodded furiously and jumped out to hug me.

"How about this? I will treat you to your favorite restaurant right now so you won't feel that sad. I'm sure someone will be destined for you to make you more happier in the future." I showed my infamous eye smile at her.

She smiled softly before saying,

"Thank you so much, Yaeddeong." She said.

"Your welcome, Ryuddaeng. Move on for me, okay? I don't like breaking people's hearts, but stay strong and happy." I said before kissing her forehead, and leading her to her favorite restaurant.

We ate and chatted like old friends. When it was getting darker, I offered to take her back to her house, which she gladly accepted.

"So, text me when you're about to sleep, m'kay?" I said.

"Yes, of course. Sleep well, Yaeddeong!" She happily said, waving at me before entering her house.

I drove to my apartment back and plopped onto my bed as my phone buzzed.

I smiled also as I closed my eyes, and drifted to sleep.

...

I woke up and did my usual morning routine, and headed to school with Ryujin, and Chaeryeong as usual.

It wasn't awkward at all with Ryujin. She's making progress.

The hallways suddenly stopped and stared as a pale, and thin Lia with a hoodie on stepped in. Their squad was beside her, and accompanied her. They all looked sad.

When they passed by us, Yuna suddenly stuck her tongue out to me angrily. All of the students turned angrily to me while Chaeryeong and Ryujin stared at me, before pulling me into classes.

"Wait, what? M-me? What did I do?" I said, before they dragged me to my seat.

The bell rang, the professor walked in and classes started.

I have to find out what was going on.
