Chapter Twenty- Nine

Yeji's POV

I had fun on my birthday. I thanked my friends countless times for the memorable and simple celebration.

I found out Yuna and Chaeryeong planned the whole thing out. I smiled to myself. 

Yesterday, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeyeon, Yuna and I planned out for Chaeryeong's birthday, which was tomorrow.

I glanced at the decorated room, and smiled. And then my phone buzzed.

great! we're walking now. we're like 45 blocks away. I can see the house already.

I put down my phone and waved to them, signaling they were coming. They understood, and were now hiding. Under the table, behind the fridge, someone even crawled up the ceiling to hide.

We turned off the lights and waited patiently. All at once, the door opened. We turned the lights on together, popped confetti and shouted "Surprise!" Chaeryeong looked shocked, her hand over her mouth, while my girlfriend stood beside her smiling widely.

"It worked!" Lia mouthed and I replied with a thumbs up and smiled.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Chaeryeong teared up.

"It was a surprise, Chae." Lia said. Chaeyeon came up to her and gave her a nicely-wrapped gift.

"Happy Birthday, sis!" Chaeyeon smiled, running up to hug her, and then going back to Ryujin. 

Yuna stepped up, offering the blushing brunette a bouquet of flowers, and a wrapped box.

"Happy Birthday, cupcake." Yuna smiled widely, pecking her girlfriend, and hugged the girl. Chaeryeong cried on Yuna's shoulder, tears of joy. Yuna comforted her, caressing her back. 

Chaeryeong looked up, seeing all her friends there. 

"Thank you so much..." Chaeryeong smiled.

We all nodded at her, smiling.

"No problem to my first friend in the school." I said out loud and smiled. Chaeryeong chuckled back.

We had a fun night. It was a simple celebration, no alcoholic drinks or whatsoever, just a decent birthday. Everyone eating, singing karaoke or playing video games.

The friend group just chatted on the couch, reminiscing past days and embarrassing moments. We ended the night with a happy soul.
