Chapter 62

*Alex's P.O.V*

"So you're okay with giving me a ride?" I asked Ellie as we were walking to her car.

School just ended and I am very thankful for that because I am very tired from it. I feel like taking a nap right now because that's how tired I am from it.

"Yeah, I don't mind." Ellie said.

As we were walking, we looked in a certain direction and see Kayleb with a group of his friends. Please remember that Kayleb is a junior while Ellie and I were sophomores. It's still kind of shocking to find out but it's true.

Kayleb looked like he was having the time of his life with his friends just smiling and laughing. If you must know, he hasn't been hanging out with us at school like he usually would. Ever since of what he did, he has been spending more time with his friends.

He probably just doesn't want to be around us and it doesn't surprise me. I mean, Ellie and I don't talk to him on social media.

"Hey, Alex and Ellie, come over here." We heard Kayleb yelled and we saw him motioning us over.

"Is he serious?" I looked over at Ellie.

She shrugged. "I am not even sure. That's how he's been acting lately so who really knows."

We hesitantly walked over to where Kayleb was with his friends. It makes me nervous to be walking to where he is because what is he going to do? Is he  just going to embarrass us in front of his buddies? If that's the case then I don't want any part of that.

We got to the spot where Kayleb was and  just tried to stay as far away from him as possible.

"Okay, we're here. What do you want?" Ellie asked.

"Ouch, is that what you are going to say to me?" Kayleb asked, placing a hand over his heart and acted like he was hurt.

"Kayleb was just telling us about how you two haven't been around him lately." One of his friends said.

Ellie and I were completely taken back. That wasn't even true. We have been around him even if it was against our own choice. We were just at his house a few days ago.

"Weren't we just at your house a few days ago?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "You most likely were but who knows."

"What have you guys done to him?" I asked his friends.

"What do you mean?"

"The way that he's been acting. It has to be because of you guys. He was never like this before and now he is. What are you guys doing?" Ellie spoke up.

"And she was the one that you made out with?" His friend asked Kayleb.

Kayleb nodded. "She's the one that I am into."

Ellie just gasped at what was being talked about. She just couldn't believe what they were saying and I can say the same thing.

"You guys know that I am standing right here."

"We can see you, babe. Don't worry." Kayleb winked at her.

Ellie and I looked at each other. The way that Kayleb was talking was just very weird. That isn't how the old Kayleb would talk to either of us. It just doesn't feel right and I know that deep down that he knows that as well.

It was silent for a minute before I decided to speak up.

I looked at Kayleb. "So what was the reason why you called us over here?"
