Chapter 16

*Matt's P.O.V*

"You know that the Christmas party is tonight, right?" I asked as I looked to Macsen as he was on his bed.

"Yeah, I'm aware." He said still looking at the ceiling.

"And mom has already told me that I'm suppose to be watching you."

He right away put his eyes on me as soon as I said that.

"Really? No way. Why do I need you as a babysitter when I'm older enough to take care of myself?" He asked.

"I didn't say you didn't know how to take care of yourself because you do. But you need to know how mom is. She just wants to make sure that you're okay."

"I'm probably just gonna be with Cooper the whole time. He was the one that I was closest too." He said.

I nodded. "Yeah that's what I figured. As long as I can see you then that's fine. I won't be having my eyes on you the whole time to make sure that you're okay."

"It's whatever. The only thing that we need to focus on tonight is having fun." He said.

I smiled at what he said and trust me, what he said was true.

"So we're gonna be leaving at 5." I said, trying to remember that was the reason why I came to his room in the first place.

"I'll be ready by then. Make sure that you're ready too."

I was confused at what he said. What did he mean by that?

"What do mean by that? Of course I'll be ready." I said.

"Your friends." He said.

"Remember what you said to me like a week ago." I told him.

"Yeah, I know."

"Okay then be ready in a couple of hours." I said and then left the room.

I went into my room and looked through all of my social medias. I'm hardly active but I always check up on everything and I'll post when I want.

I see Angel, Cassady, Brooklyn, Jackson and others posting about the party tonight. I smiled because I can't wait either.

As I continued looking through everything, I keep remembering what Macsen was saying.

It's obvious that he was talking about Cassady.

He probably still thinks that I have a crush on her regardless of him now knowing my crush on Alex.

I hope he is just doing it to annoy me now and if that is what he is doing, then he is doing a good job at annoying me.

I am just hoping that Macsen doesn't do anything and he doesn't try anything either.

I have a crush on Alex and that's it. I don't have a crush on any of my friends that's a girl like Cassady or Brooklyn. They're good friends of mine.

I now have to go back to Macsen's room to see if he was just messing with me. I hope he is.

I go to his bedroom to see that he isn't there. Then I had to go somewhere else in the house.

I checked the kitchen and he was there.

"Hey, were you just messing with me just a few minutes ago?" I asked him.

"About the whole friend thing? Yes, I was." He said.

"So you do know that I-" I started to say but he cut me off.

"Yes, I know that you don't have a crush on Cassady. You have a crush on Alex. I already told you that I do those things to annoy you." He explained.
