"So are we watching a horror film or comedy?" Bev asks, holding an abundance of films in her hand.
"N-n-not another dr-drama, like last t-time," Bill wines.
"Let's watch Carrie, but the original. Not the shitty remake," Richie says while shuffling through the movie choices displayed in front of him.
Beverly explained how her aunt used to own a movie store, before Netflix took the world over, so she has basically every movie that came out before 2011 on DVD.
Stan asks, "Why would we watch Carrie again? We saw that movie like three weeks ago, and no one enjoyed it nearly as much as you."
"Sorry for liking a fucking movie, Stan. What do you suggest we watch? Jennifer's fucking body?" Richie sasses.
Stan replies, "Matter of fact, yes I do."
"I'm not watching Jennifer's Body, it reminds me of you know who and you know when!" Bev hints at., widening her eyes at the rest of the group.
Mike elbows my ribs, making me jolt up a bit, "She means eighth grade with Cassie. The two of them enjoyed a romantic make out sesh in the middle of it."
Richie pushes Bev's shoulder and jokes, "Damn shame it was a girls only sleepover, us men would have killed to see you ladies going at it!"
"Sh-sh-shut it, Trashmouth!" Bill bellows.
Bev rolls her eyes, "It was meaningless and dumb. Just a little, girly experimenting moment, that's all. Now, what are we watching? Ben, you choose, I'm giving all the power to you."
Ben laughs, "That's a lot of pressure."
Mike suggests, "How about we watch The Strangers? It's kind of scary but nothing too intense. Sound good?"
We all agree, mainly so no one else had to spit out anymore suggestions, and all gather on the large, plushy couch. Before I get a chance to sit, Bev calls me into the kitchen. I do as told, even though I'm apprehensive about it since I may not be able to get a seat next to Richie.
"Help me with the popcorn," She smiles, so bright that the room luminates.
"Of course," I nod, passing her bowls.
She whispers, even though it's already hard enough to hear her over the ruckus the boys in the other room are making.
"So, Eddie, you excited for your first Loser's Club movie night?"
"Yeah, super excited, I've never seen this movie."
She explains, "I have once, it's not too bad. Listen, the reason I specifically called you over here was to ask you something."
I, nervously, ask, "What's up?"
"I don't want the other boys to make fun of me, and I know you're a boy too but I've only known you for a little while so you won't laugh at me until the end of time. Not that I can't handle them, because I most definitely can, but still. Anyways, if I were to have everyone sleepover do you think they'd notice if Bill and I, you know, did stuff?"
I confirm, "If you and Bill fuck?"
She hushes, "Shh, and yes. Like once everyone's sound asleep, he joins me in my room and we do it."
I shrug, "I don't see a problem with it. Is Bill aware?"
"We've been talking about it the past couple days. In fact, yesterday, after smoking, the two of us went to the quarry and he, uh, we did some things. And all day today we've been trying to find out ways to actually do it do it without anyone finding out, because then we'll never hear the end of it."
