I wake up and Richie's nowhere in sight. I figure he's getting some fresh air or doing something to clear his head, I doubt he slept very well. I get changed for the day and freshen up before heading downstairs, where pancakes are already made and placed on the kitchen table. I am not too hungry, so I pass but refrain from throwing any away in case Richie wants some. Outside the window I notice that Richie's car is nowhere in sight, making me grow curious and anxious. I can only pray he didn't go back to his own house this morning. While I wait for him to answer his phone I head outside, ready to meet him anywhere. When he doesn't pick up I take the liberty of walking to his house.

Upon my arrival I notice his truck isn't there, which makes me feel relieved. Where was he though? I try calling once more, but I still receive no answer. I text him rapidly, trying my hardest to keep calm. Last night was intense for him, who knows just how hard it actually was for him. In panic, I call Cassie to see if she'd have any possible information or advice.

"Morning, Eddie. What's up?" Cassie answers.

I ask, "Is there any place Richie would go if he was extremely stressed out? When I woke up he wasn't at my place, and now I'm at his and he's not here either. I have no idea where he could have possibly gone. I mean, maybe one of the Losers homes?"

She questions, "Wait, what happened?"

"He saw Miles last night at the party. He didn't know the party was for him but they ran into each other and Richie didn't handle it well," I share.

"Fuck, I had no clue Miles was going to be there either. Thought it was just for some random Bridget girl. If it's something that has to do with Miles then there is absolutely no way he went to another Losers place. He could be at that stupid park by my house," She explains.

I beg, "Can you please go check?"

"I mean I guess," She sighs. Then she suggests, "Let me just pick you up, okay? That way if he is somewhere inside the park you can be there for him."

Soon enough, her car is at the front of Richie's neighborhood and I make my way inside of it. She is wearing the same boxer shorts and small white tank top as she was the one night she picked me up after Richie and I's first fight. When we arrive, she stays in the car but I search the entire premises. Richie was nowhere. I return to the car and want to scream out of frustration.

"Not there," I sigh, angrily.

She asks, "And he's not answering his phone?"

"No, he isn't. I'm so worried, I just need him to text me back or reach out or something!" I admit.

She says, "Do you think he went to talk to Miles? Maybe he woke up and had the urge to get all of this shit off of his chest."

"Maybe, would you mind taking me there to check? I don't know exactly which house is his but we can drive around Michelle's neighborhood, he lives in there," I suggest.

She warmly smiles, "Of course, let's go."

The two of us drive around the neighborhood aimlessly until we spot Richie's truck, parked in the driveway of the narrowest house by far, but tallest in the neighborhood. The house looked comfortable, like inside held a family that truly loved one another. Miles, to my understanding, lived with his mother, step father, and step sister. I only lived with my mom, and these days we don't talk as frequently. She was really bad at one point, possessive, controlling, and unfit. It got so bad that I talked to my guidance counselor about it who called a specialist for us. Family counselling helped immensely, so much to the point where we moved just to completely start fresh. Now, she doesn't know how to act anymore. To compensate for what she feels she has lost, she drowns herself in work. Takes on the most ridiculous hours, even works on weekends. It helped me plenty because I was able to sneak around Richie much easier.
