Chapter 11: Approval?

Your POV

"Your mother?" You asked once Todoroki quickly asked you about. A proposal to go and meet his mother- and his two older siblings. He was almost comforting about it because he stated that his father wouldn't be involved in this little meeting. Almost like his father never knew about this meeting. "You want me to visit your mother?"

He nods his head, holding tightly onto you and kissing your forehead. "I mean... only if you don't mind. My older brother is... I guess I'll say ecstatic to meet you. Won't stop blowing up my phone. My older sister... well... she's much more caring and hoping for the best for you. That's all. And my mom... she wants to see you."

You smiled softly, nodding your head and nuzzling your head into him. "Sure, I'll go and see her. She sounds sweet."

Todoroki smiles softly, kissing your lips and holding onto you tightly. "Alright. I'll go notify my mom and older siblings. Whenever you feel uncomfortable, just tell me. I'll try and deal with it." You smiled softly, laying deep within his warmth. It was just... cool... beautiful... and gentle.

The next day, your hands were gently shaking as Todoroki led you to the room where his mother stayed. Todoroki took your hand, smiling softly. "It's okay," he says in a way that begins to melt your heart, "I'm right here by your side. I won't ever leave your side, (y/n)..." You nodded your head with a smile, walking in with Todoroki by your side.

He slowly opens the door- and he was immediately attacked by this guy with pure white hair. He grabs Todoroki by his collar, pulling him inside. "Is that her, Shoto?! Whoa... you got good-"

"Natsuo!" Another girl with white hair, but had some red specks in her hair. She quickly gives the boy a hard slap against the cheek. She definitely had some sort of fire within her eyes. "Is that how you really treat Shoto when he has a guest?! Shame!" Her tone quickly changed as her eyes landed on you. Almost like the fire in her eyes just disappeared. "Hello there- you must be (y/n). I'm Fuyumi- and this guy is Natsuo. We're Shoto's older siblings."

You turned to see Todoroki, who was rubbing his neck. He looks up, smiling softly to only you. "Yeah... they're not what you would expect."

"Welcome back, Shoto." There was this gentle voice coming through, and there was this woman in her bed. Her eyes had matched her voice- kind and gentle.

Todoroki walked up to the woman. He had you in tow, as he was holding your hand tightly. Todoroki gave this soft smile, "Hey Mom."

The woman looks towards you, continuing to smile gracefully. "You're (y/n), aren't you? You're very beautiful..."

You began to blush, smiling back to her. "T-Thank you..."

"Oh!" Her hand reached to her mouth in surprise. "I haven't had the honor of introducing myself to you. I'm Rei Todoroki- Shoto's mother. It's a pleasure to have met you, (y/n). Shoto had said some... things about you." 

To see his reaction, you turned to see Todoroki trying to hide his face. "M-Mom..."

Rei chuckles softly, reaching out to her son. "I'm not trying to humiliate you, Shoto. I just thought that she would like to know about that. It's not like they're anything bad. You're just a sweet, sweet young man-"

"M-Mom!"

There was a soft chuckle among everyone, especially you. Todoroki's cheeks soon turned red with embarrassment as his siblings also began to turn against him. Laughing gently about Todoroki's words.

"Fuyumi, Natsuo, Shoto, can I ask you three to get some lunch for all of us?" Rei asks. You perked up, not hearing your name among those three. It was just the Todoroki siblings. "Anything that you guys get for me is good enough with me."

Todoroki looked towards you, wanting to see if you would come. But Rei's words were stern. Todoroki stood up and began to walk out of Rei's room with his two older siblings. Seconds later, you were left alone with Rei.

"(y/n), as I heard, you and Shoto were together... not that long... correct?"

"Dating wise... yes, that's correct. But... we've met more than that."

"Shoto never told me how he met you. He kept telling me that it was just lucky that he happened to find you. Do you mind if you help clarify it for me?"

You nodded your head, beginning to tell the tale of how you happened upon Todoroki. That fateful night when he was blown into the sky and into the ocean. How you rescued him from drowning. How there was an accidentally kiss shared between the two of you. Even recalling that memory, it made your cheeks warm and your heart flutter. That night of when two paths crossed. If things didn't work out properly... you may had never fallen for a young man like Shoto Todoroki.

After you revealed of how you and Todoroki met, there was a smile on Rei's face. It was almost like there was no such thing as a frown in her mind. She chuckled softly, brushing her white hair behind her ears. "So... that's what he was hiding? I knew he was hiding something. Mothers always know."

"Um... Rei-"

"Do you feel uncomfortable being here?" You nodded your head slightly. "It's Enji, isn't it? You don't have to worry, (y/n)." Her voice was so calm and gentle... "If you feel uncomfortable being around the family of the hero Endeavor... don't worry. Even though he may have done some terrible things... it doesn't mean you're involved in it. Shoto deserves someone like you. A kind, loving girlfriend... that's all he needs. Just a bit of love. You two, in no doubt, are perfect one another."

"W-What do you mean by that, Rei?"

She smiles once more, nearly chuckling a bit. "I mean... I approval of you near my precious Shoto. Just remember to take care of yourself too. Your heart doesn't just belong to Shoto- it also belongs to you. I know you two are still in high school... but maybe... just maybe... things might escalate..."

"Es... calate...?"

"Shoto always seems to be closed off. It's nearly as beautiful as the first snowfall of the year to see him grow and get out of his shell. There's no doubt that you're helping him grow. I just can't wait to see Shoto being a bubbly child... just like when he was a toddler." Her head suddenly lifts- almost like something hit her. "Would you like to hear something funny about Shoto when he was learning to walk?"
