Chapter 15: A Mutual Understanding

Endeavor's POV

Just as I thought- I found Sirena a few hours before noon right on her usual beach. The way she was sitting and gazing out at the ocean... like she didn't care at all. "Sirena." I say, forcing her to turn back towards me.

She looks at me, nearly chuckling a bit. "Ah... Endeavor."

"I'm not on duty right now- just call me Enji."

She stands up, flattening out her skirt from the sand. Her hands were gracefully tucked behind her back as she smiled back at me. "Forgive me, Enji. Sorry, I have a tendency to call everyone by their hero names. What brings you here, Enji?"

"It's about your student- (y/n)?"

"What about her?"

My arms crossed when I felt this killing intensity from her. I take a deep breath, trying to compose myself from lashing out. "I need to know about her."

Sirena gave a slight chuckle, leaning against a palm tree. "As expected..." My head tilted a bit when she said that. That didn't make sense at all. I did research on her and thought it'll be a good guess to find her here at her beach. "All Might sent a message to me about you asking for (y/n). Something about your son's relationship?"

"That's my business-"

"If it's your business to get involved with your son's relationships, then it's my business to get involved as well. After all, I am (y/n)'s teacher. I just need to set things straight. You're trying to interrogate (y/n) because she's dating your son?"

My broad shoulders rolled as I shrugged. "I just need to know if she has good intentions. I have no way to reach her personally, so I came here to chat with her."

"Chatting with her..." Sirena puts her chin on her hand as she stared down at the sand. "At least you have the honesty to come up to me. I think I would've freaked out if she came to me because you were talking to her- perhaps even threatening her. There would've been no doubt that I would've had a stern talking-to."

"I just want to talk to her. That's all."

"She'll be arriving in less than half an hour. Just stay here. I'll be the first one to explain things to her."

"Endeavor?" I turned to see the girl in her hero outfit. It was almost fit like she was some sort of a fish. She gave a slight bow before looking back up at me. 

I waved it off with my hand. "Just call me Enji." She nods a bit, tucking her arms behind her back. "Is it alright if we can talk? Just the two of us? I'll treat to lunch- wherever you want. I just want to talk to you."

It had seemed that the girl looked at her mentor, which gave her an approving look. (y/n) nodded her head, just slowly. "Okay."

Your POV

"Is this about Shoto?" You asked, peering up at him. He was nearly a stranger when Endeavor wasn't on duty. It did feel a little awkward just sitting in a fast-food restaurant with just him. You only picked at your French Fries as you were sitting across from Endeavor.

He nods a bit. "I just want to know about your relationship with him. How did you guys meet?"

"At the beach..."

"You can be honest with me. I won't judge."

Todoroki's text messages about his father trying to get information about you two haunted your mind. But it was quickly resolved when Todoroki said that no matter what, he would always choose you as his girlfriend. No matter what, Todoroki will always be with you. Even if his father tried to separate the two of you, Todoroki's loyalty to you will not waver.

"I think it was one of U.A.'s training nights... he was blasted from the city and into the ocean. I was... I was there, resting from my own training session. When he fell into the waters... I was the one who saved him from being drowned. That's how we've met..."

Endeavor seemed to have nodded his head, taking a few bites of his own fries. "When did you guys decide to keep seeing each other?"

"The next day... Shoto... I guess he wanted to repay me back by taking me out to lunch. But really... I guess our feelings continued to grow."

"When did you guys start officially dating?" 

"Over a week ago... he asked me to be his girlfriend when those cherry blossoms bloomed near U.A... it was really romantic of him to that..." Even recalling those never-forgetting memories made your cheeks blush once more. All that you craved now was Todoroki's touch. "Shoto's a really good guy..."

Endeavor leaned forward, pulling out his phone. "So you really have no bad intentions..."

"Bad intentions? Why would I?"

Endeavor sighed, putting his phone down. "He is my son after all. If something bad happens to any of my children, it may be a villain trying to take me down. And I don't want to ruin Shoto's future as a hero. So if he could have been corrupted by anyone related to villains... I can't forgive myself."

You slightly nodded your head, understanding what Endeavor was talking about. "But I wouldn't dare hurt him. Shoto's more afraid that you're gonna separate us two... and that's why he's been hiding it from you. If anything happens to us two... I know that I'll stay by Shoto's side- no matter what. He would do the same for me. Even if we're gonna be heroes together... I wouldn't want him to get hurt. He is... after all... my boyfriend..."

"As long as I don't detect any sort of villainous actions from you or anyone close to you... you're allowed to stay with him. If you do anything to put him in direct danger, know that I can ruin your reputation as a hero and I can separate you from him."

"But what if he's the one putting himself in direct danger for me? What then?"

Endeavor stayed silent for a bit, feeling cornered by that question. "Everything will be determined from then. Right now... you're okay. I'll allow you to date Shoto... just try not to show it publicly..."

"Of course."
