As she slept, familiar smell and noise loafed through the air. She was either back home or still on Mount Olympus. She slept for a little longer as she was still tired from last night.
But it didn't last long. Piper and Jason crept into Kaitlin's room and made so much noise. It didn't wake her. "I thought that was going to work?" Jason whispered.
Jupiter walked past and saw Kaitlin still asleep. He raised one hand, but Kaitlin woke up. "Not this time!" She said.
"When do you leave?" Piper asked. "Tomorrow afternoon. Why?" Kaitlin said. "I have something planned. " Piper added.
Kaitlin got dressed quickly. She rushed outside and saw Mount Olympus nearly repaired. "Olympus is nearly finished." Kaitlin said to Athena. "Its only halfway." She thought Athena was joking and she continued talking. "How is it only halfway?" Kaitlin added. "So many layers." Athena said before disappearing.
The fact that no one treated her differently, made her feel good. Everyday she goes to school in the mortal world and goes home after school in the underworld. She got treated the same as her new friends. Even though she did more.
"You need to come to Camp Half-Blood" Jason said. "Well, actually, it's only called Camp Olympus now." Piper said. "When?" Kaitlin asked. "Talk to your dad, if he says "yes" then come." Piper explained.
"After this we're going back to Camp." Jason added. Under the table Jason entwined his hand through Piper's. Kaitlin started to get upset. Tears were rolling down her cheek. Pain of loss was burning her.
She got up and left. She grabbed her bags. She was about to leave when someone stopped her. "Kaitlin wait!" She turned and saw Jason trying to calm her down.
"Every time I go to school, people treat me differently, they call me names and I don't have any friends!" She yelled. The truth struck her. "Kaitlin, a few are mean but you just need to be mean back." Piper said. "I'll ask, but no promises." Kaitlin added.
After the morning ended, Kaitlin got her bags and a portal to the underworld opened. She said her goodbyes. Piper gave her the worlds biggest hug. When Kaitlin pulled back, she saw tears in Piper's brown eyes.
"Pipes, I'll see you soon." Kaitlin whispered into her ear. "Well, I guess this is goodbye." Kaitlin said. "Goodbye, and I'll see you next summer, probably." Jupiter said. As Kaitlin stepped into the portal and waved goodbye.
As they turned to leave, the portal re-opened and Kaitlin stepped out. "I forgot something." She smiled. She handed Jason and Piper two wrapped gifts. "Open after I am gone for good." She said.
This time the portal closed for good. Piper opened hers first. Her mouth fell open. "This is gorgeous!" She said. Her gift was a ruby encrusted bracelet with gold. Diamond earrings with a gold carat back. And an emerald studded silver necklace.
Jason opened his next. He got a new sword. "Whoa! This is a pure gold handle." He said. "Yeah but the actual sword is made from celestial bronze." Jupiter added.
They found out there is no curse on Kaitlin's metals and jewels. They cherished their gifts. Inside the paper Piper found a card. "Thanks for your friendship. I will always cherish our time together. Hopefully I will see you again. Kate." She red aloud.
