Worst Heartbreak, Best Dream

Chapter 5

We casually walked around near the back door where my jeep was parked. I saw a whole crowd of girls. Oh shit. I texted Calum telling him not to come out until we said because there was a whole sea of girls. I felt like I needed to take one for the team and pretend I was a major fan girl. “Umm excuse me who are you guys waiting for?” I asked in a slightly higher voice. A few girls that seemed to be in a group in the crowd said, “5SOS! They’re so hot!” I didn’t know what to do. I screamed the most believable scream I could. “WE LITERALLY JUST SAW THEM! They were leaving out the front, they’re probably gone but we overheard them saying they were going to the movie theatre and then some party I think 6 miles down the coast. As soon as we said that they all scattered and left. Gosh that was a close one. I hopped in my jeep and texted them it was safe.

Me: I got rid of them, the coast is clear.

 We pulled up in front of the back door and they slid out into my car. “If you want to go somewhere tell me, but the swarm of girls is at the movies. Luke suggested the mall if we stay low profile but I knew that wasn’t gonna happen. “We could go mini golfing?” I suggested. “How about we play laser tag?” Liz asked. All the guys started yelling. I guess we were going laser tagging. We can go to the beach later when it starts to get less crowded. I drove to Astrotag, the laser tagging place. They told us we could play individually or in teams. Ashton yelled out “Teams!” so we played on teams. We played two games; the first was Calum and I vs. Luke and Michael vs. Ashton and Liz. We were like (non-Asian) ninjas. Michael and Luke would ambush us a couple times but usually it was when we were cornered. Calum and I would cover each other, we moved in sync. Although we did well, Luke and Michael won. The second round was individual, obviously a lot harder than I thought since I was by myself. Luke won that one too. He bragged about it non-stop and finally Michael got pissed off from hearing it so much. “Luke! Shut the hell up! We know you won already for the 50 millionth time!” he shouted. “Woah whoa guys how about no starting fist fights in the back of my car please.” I shouted over them. Liz was in the back with all 3 of them trying to calm it down. Luckily we weren’t far from the hotel. We pulled up, “Okay that’s enough fun for you boys. Calum if you’re gonna be busy tonight just text me and let me know, Liz and I are going shopping!” The boys got out, Luke and Michael still bickering. We waited for them to go inside then pulled off. We went to the mall and I got tons of vintage band crop tops that I loved to listen to, some newer bands too including 5SOS, and a muscle shirt that says I prefer the bass player. We bought new and better makeup, and went to get our nails and hair done. I bought adorable heels so we were almost the same height. Normally his lips would reach my nose. When we were done it had been a few hours. We drove back to the hotel, the car ride was good. “So what’s up with you and Ash? I just want to know in general because after this week I know you will tell me everything else.” I said. “Well I don’t know Luke always tries to flirt with me but Ash is just so great. I showed him my pictures. He is a genuinely nice guy and he’s so sweet. I’ll keep you posted, but what about you and Cal?” she asked back. “Eh I like him but I know he can’t date me and he won’t anyways so it’s sorta hard to cope with that sometimes because I really do like him.” We both had changed and I was wearing black high waisted shorts with the bass player shirt. I had my black Vans on from earlier. Liz had this really pretty lace dress on with pretty black heels on. My hair was straightened and I was wearing a black bandana. Liz had her hair curled and pinned up perfectly. We parked the car and walked inside. Calum never said the boys were going anywhere together so I guessed he was just chilling in the room. I walked Liz to her’s and Ashton’s room and helped her with her bags. I was a little further down the hall at the end which meant great beach view. Without thinking about knocking I unlocked the door and saw Calum sitting on the bed crying, tears streaming down his face. He stopped himself after seeing me come in.
