When she left,

He told her that she took everything,

"You were the one who made me complete,"
He said.

"Then you should be fine on your own,"
she replied.

He shook his head,

'I'm only complete when I'm with you,

Whenever you sit alone in the dark,
you never knew that the brightest light of all was you.

When I only wanted a spoon of love,
you gave me the ocean.

When I only wanted to feel your warm air against my lips,
you taught me how to breath.

When I only wanted for you to look at me once,
you stared at me in a room full of beautiful people--

and you became the only one who did so everyday.

You ate away my negativity--
you devoured my loneliness, my doubts, my darkest days,

and, most importantly,

you filled me when I didn't know I had something to fill.'

...

"Hello? Did you hear what I said? I said you should be okay," she broke into his thoughts.

He blinked and smiled,
"Yes. I should be."
