Today I was at the doctor, and for the first time in a while, the doctor was telling me encouraging news!

"I'm very impressed, your mood has also changed as well!" I turned to look at Sunhi, who had her eyes on me already, and smiled at her slightly

"thanks, doctor.. we'll be coming for the monthly check-ups then"  she said on my behalf

"good, but by no means forget about weekly therapies, and, we'll have you drink some vitamins, zinc, and also, you need a healthier diet, okay? you're very skinny now" the doctor raised his eyebrows at me as he finished writing down the prescription and handed it to me. I smiled softly and nodded, knowing perfectly well that though my back was almost fully recovered, other areas of my health had suffered a huge impact.

"Should we have some food? Sushi, perhaps?" Sunhi asked as soon as we left the clinic, her eyes stared at mine with a plead that I've always been unable to ignore, that was actually one of the reasons for me to keep the lights off at home when i was feeling down, because i knew i would be unable to ignore those wonderful eyes i fell in love with.

"That sounds amazing, my love" I replied with a grin on my face, it getting gradually bigger as Sunhi's grew as well. I took her hand in mine, lacing our fingers tightly with my own, scared of letting go of her hand hand that I knew also held mine, but once someone loosens their grip, it's hard for the other to carry the weight of both hands, and I didn't want my hand to feel heavy on Sunhi's.

"So, how are things going with the guys? Have you all spoken?" she said as a conversation starter

"yes! i spoke to them last night, and, i might go back to work on Monday" i replied, feeling excitement build up in myself the more i thought about getting back to work. Some people didn't understand how I could be so excited about getting back to work, but to me, it was more than work, but more of a part of who i really was, and whom i was trying to get back to.

"That's great,I hope you don't push yourself too hard though, go easy the first days, promise?"

"I promise I'll take care of myself" I said with a smile, right before giving my sushi roll a bite

"You're too much" she said with an eye roll and followed up by a giggle. And that's how we kept on eating and chatting , enjoying each other's company like we've always done.

After we finished, we decided to walk around a little, hand in hand, and me listening to all of the accomplishments and hardships Sunhi has been going through during this past months. It made me feel a little guilty, that added to her job she had to take care of me, and it wasn't only that but the fact that I was being an asshole by pushing her away so harshly, but I'm glad she stayed, and understood my pain.

For her, I'm willing to try my best, to recover completely and become healthier, but most importantly,  to giver her, and everyone who has been lighting my path up, the bet version of myself, the best Jackson Wang they can have.

Because, even though i deserved to be abandoned, she didn't.
