AN- This chapter is gonna be long, just a warning, and will also have multiple perspectives throughout

Tenten's POV

It was now the day of the wretched dance. Luckily, I was going with basically my best friend, so I knew it wouldn't be awkward. I seriously couldn't have asked for someone better to go with than Neji.

At about 4:00, the two way-two-enthusiastic girls walked in with their dresses. "It's time to get ready!" Ino exclaimed excitedely.

"Seriously?" I groaned. "But the dance doesn't start for another three hours!"

"Well, if I'm doing all of your makeup, WHICH I AM," She said that last part after watching me roll my eyes. "It will roughly take that long. So. You kretons," She pointed to the rest of us. "Get dressed."

I slowly got out of my bed and went to the closet to get my dress. I put it on in the bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror for a second. Now that it was time to actually wear it, the dress seemed a lot shorter than I remembered it being.

Have I grown, or has this dress shrunk?

Tenten, you're just being an idiot. The dress is the exact same and you look great.

Hmm. Okay brain, if you say so.

I looked at myself again. No, the dress didn't look bad on me, or I should probably say, I looked good in it. It was a simple black dress with spaghetti straps that went to about my mid thigh. It showed a little bit on top, but not too much, and it hugged my curves a little, but not too much. I was pretty satisfied with it, but I decided that there was one thing missing.

I dug through my side of the sink and found it. My mother's necklace. It was one of the only remnants I had of her. I rarely wore it (only for special occasions) because it was really special to me. The necklace itself isn't too fancy- it was a black choker necklace with a kunai charm on it. The more important thing was what it meant to me. Feeling my outfit was complete now, I walked out of the bathroom to meet the rest of the girls.

They were all already dressed, and each one of them looked equally gorgeous. Hinata was wearing a light-blue long-sleeved dress that went to her mid-thigh, Sakura had on a red dress that was sort of lacy on the top and flowed at her hip, and Ino wore a purple strapless dress that was short at the front but a little longer as it got to the back.

Ino instantly beamed at me. "OMG Tenten. You're. HOT."

I scratched the back of my neck, somewhat embarrassed. "Um thanks. You guys all look amazing."

But apparently, not amazing enough, because Ino immediately grabbed an unsuspecting Hinata and stuck her in a chair, putting powder and whatever on her face. I didn't even know what half of the products were.

------

Ino was right. The process did take a long time, but luckily, she kept it light. I only had a little bit of lip gloss, concealer and mascara (I think?). As for our hair, we pretty much kept it all in our usual styles. (After serious protest, Ino finally let me keep my hair in the normal buns).

"Now! Shoes!" Ino said.

I groaned. "I am not wearing heels."

"Don't worry, Tenten." Sakura said. "They make you take off your shoes at the dance anyway. There have been too many... incidents. So, you don't have to wear them for very long."

I shrugged. Okay fine, I guess I can deal with heels for a little bit. I didn't have any of my own, so Sakura lent me some extras.

Pretty soon after we had finished, we heard a knock at the door, which meant that the guys had arrived. I opened the door to come face to face with none other than Mr. Ice himself, who looked extremely handsome in a suit. The rest of the boys were behind him, dressed just as nicely.
