Cadence
Cadence's Mother_______________
CHAPTER NINE
_______________"Is he cute?"
"Mom, stop."
"C'mon honey, just tell me."
"... Maybe slightly."
"Atta girl. Is he single? Does he like older women?"
"Mom, stop!"
"Ha! I'm just kidding honey. ... Unless..?"
"MOM."
"I'm joking! I'm joking! How's the book coming along?"
"We're almost halfway done on the outline, but we also only have a week to finish so. Slowly."
"Well, your boss did give a ridiculous deadline. But for a normal book with no due date, I'd say you're doing pretty well. I would have had it done already though"
"That's because you're a psychopath who happens to be a three time best selling author."
"Probably."
"How's Lenny doing though?"
"He's fine, whining as always. The doctor said his shoulder should be fine by the end of the month and he'll be good to get back into football."
"Well, that's good. Tell him I say hi. I'll have to visit soon."
"Only if you bring Elliot."
"Mother. For the love of god—"
"I'm just joking sweetie. You do need a boyfriend though. It would definitely help with creativity in a romance novel. If you get what I mean."
"I'm hanging up now. Tell dad I say hi too. And that I love him and Lenny. And I guess you too."
"Cadence Ash!"
"Byeeee mom!"
"Bye baby, love you."
"Love you too."
