CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
_______________"Not going to lie, I'm a little stressed."
"Same. But we'll get it done. I believe in us."
"Yeah, me too. But five months? For a novel?"
"It'll be fine."
"I hope so."
"Anyway, where are you taking me Wednesday?"
"You'll find out, I said."
"God, can't you just tell me now?"
"No? It'd ruin the surprise."
"I despise surprises."
"I figured. That's why I'm doing one."
"I hate you."
"So you've said on many occasions."
"About the beach house, when do you think we should do that?"
"I'm kind of shocked you agreed to go."
"Well it's for the book, I've never been, you've never been, so how are we supposed to know how things work if we don't go?"
"Yeah, I know. But still. You. Me. Alone."
"Would you cut that out? Obviously nothing is gonna happen, you're disgusting. And we'll have separate rooms and I won't spend time with you unless I have to. This is me just taking advantage of a vacation. That you're paying for by the way."
"Fine, I see how it is. But we'll split the pay for the whole thing, and for expenses when we get there. We'll probably be eating out most of the time."
"Why are you acting like that's a bad thing?"
"Because I can cook. For free."
"I guess. That cheesy chicken and rice was pretty good."
"Of course it was."
