A/N: so there's been a couple of people on twitter who aren't exactly found of the subtitle that Venom 2 has. That subtitle of course being "Let There Be Carnage"

And not many liked it. And people were wondering or complaining (or just outright bitching) on why they didn't simply choose to call it Maximum Carnage. For me, the title isn't exactly the best (I would have gone for something like "Carnage Unleashed"), It's kinda understandable that they didn't use Maximum Carnage as the film's subtitle. I believe that they are likely saving that title for a future film.
Allow me to explain. This film will basically be Carnage's first appearance in not just film format, but his very first appearance in Sony's Marvel Universe. And while Shriek is appearing with him, it's still likely that is to be more based around Carnage's first escape and rampage.

Basically we can see him and Shriek causing a lot of death around the city and stuff. To which Eddie and Venom will have to react (how Venom is going to take them both on is still beyond me, but still).
Maximum Carnage acts a lot later on. To which is why I believe that they're going to be saving the title for a 3rd or later film if this turns into a franchise.

Now that I've thought it over, I don't think Sony is going to kill off Carnage in his literal first film debut. He's likely to be used as a reoccurring villain for Venom's film franchise. And if this is the case, it's possible he'll even a be a catalyst for other Villains to appear in Venom or other Marvel Sony Films.

Hell, Maximum Carnage might be save as Sony's "Event Film". Kinda like how Marvel Studios has the Avengers films. They'll probably use Maximum Carnage to have Carnage and Shriek cause Chaos all over New York to which they would try and bring in Venom, Morbius and possibly even Spider-Man (should the new deal not get extended) to appear in the film to try and take down carnage and shriek.
And if they DO choose to kill off Carnage at the end of Maximum Carnage, it could be revealed that he given birth to a symbiote that would become Toxin. Who could likely be another Villain for Venom after.

And THAT is all to why I think they didn't name Venom 2 the subtitle of Maximum Carnage. It's just likely being saved.
