I'm finally happy to be back at the office after a one-day long home-arrest. At least now, I won't be getting bored...

I came early today. Since the boss wants to see me, I thought it's better to be early in the office. I looked up to Sanky's cubicle only to see him rubbing his eyes. Of course, I dragged him with me, that too this early. His face is now clearly saying that he is not finished with his sleep. I hope he won't fall asleep here...

"Hey, how was your trip?" Riya's chirpy voice ringed in my ears. With a huge smile on my lips, I turned to face her. "It went well... Actually, it was amazing!" I replied enthusiastically. Giving me an appreciative nod, she turned towards Sanky. "Didn't he get enough sleep yesterday?" She nodded towards a sleepy Sanky. It's evident in her eyes that she adores him a lot. Well, I have to admit... He looks really cute in this sleepy-mode... If it was up to Riya, she will spend the whole day just looking at him. Since I'm not she and the fact that I do have work pending due to yesterday's leave, I turned my attention back to work.

It must be past eleven, Riya is again back at my desk. Rolling my eyes, I looked at her questioningly... Shrugging her shoulders, she nodded towards the boss' cabin. "He is expecting you!" She said.

I quickly said thanks to her and gathered my phone from my desk. Before going to the boss' cabin, I asked Riya to get a coffee for Sanky. If he wants to get through the day, he really needs that. Riya was very happy to take my order. After all, it's a chance for her to talk to him. How long are they going to play! I thought as I made my way to the boss' cabin. Time to face business... I reminded myself before knocking on the door...

"Come in..."

Wait! That's not Mr. Bhanushali! Carefully, I opened the door to let myself in. The chair was turned away from me, and it's clear that the owner of that voice is sitting on it. But who is he? My head started working in order to clear my confusion. I tried to remember if someone told me about any particular change in the office! But to my disappointment, no such news or information came to my head. Why didn't even Sanky mentioned about it! I wondered!

"What are you doing here?"

A surprised voice pulled me back from my thoughts. But then it took me a while to register what I'm seeing!!! The man in that chair is not sitting on it anymore, he is standing in front of me! And all I could see is the confusion in his face!

"I think I should be the one to ask that question!" I replied with an equal amount of surprise and confusion.

"I was expecting Ms. Jaiswal and now you are here! What's going on Samvruta?" He is clearly trying to figure things out... Hell, even I'm!

"Funny fact! I was expecting to see Mr. Bhanushali since he is my boss!" My reply was more like a question than a statement! "And yeah, it's me! Samvruta Jaiswal!" I added shortly after!

He blinked in surprise, still finding everything hard to register. I can sense the situation, even I'm feeling the same! But still, I haven't got my answers. What is he doing here!
"You haven't answered me yet! What are you doing here Ved?"

A sudden chuckle escaped his mouth. He shrugged his head at the whole situation! Now I'm even more confused. Sensing my state of mind, he nodded towards the chair in front of his desk. "Take a seat. I think we need to clear this out!"
I took deep breaths and then nod. He right, we need to make things clear. Slowly I walked towards his desk and took the chair he offered. Sighing with relief, he gets back to his chair.
"So you are saying that you are unaware of the fact that Mr. Bhanushali is replaced?" Ved finally asked after mulling over for a while. I shook my head in a clear 'No'. Getting back to the silence, he nodded his head in an understand after thinking for a while. He took a few minutes recess everything. Soon a warm smile came upon his lips. Extending his hands for a shake, finally, those words came out from his mouth,
"Well, nice to meet you, Ms. Jaiswal. I'm Ved Dhawan, your new project manager!"
