Amy and Laurie

Chapter 1

Amy and Laurie were in Paris together and Amy was drawing a picture of Laurie to give to him.

The two of them were sitting outside on a blanket and Laurie was looking at her, Amy looked back at him with a smile and asked "What are you doing?".

Laurie softly smiled and said "I'm looking at you, why can't I look at you?".

Amy said turning back to her drawing "I never said you couldn't I just asked a simple question".

Laurie said "And I gave you my answer".

Amy continued drawing when Laurie said "I wanna see what you're drawing".

Amy said "Not till I'm done".

Laurie reached for it and Amy playfully slapped him and said "Stop".

Laurie looked in Amy's eyes and he felt different. He hadn't felt like this in a long time. The last time he felt like this was when he loved Jo but this was different it was stronger.

After a while Amy finished the drawing and stood up after Laurie had stood up to walk around and said "Here".

Laurie took it and looked at it with a smile and said "This is beautiful Amy". He picked it up and another drawing of him fell out he picked it up and said "When did you do this".

Amy smiled fondly as she remembered and said "Oh I drew this one that day at the beach".

Laurie looked at her and said "Well it's very good".

Amy smiled unsure of what to say.

Laurie walked away as he collected his thoughts. He realized that he felt something towards her and he didn't know why. Sure they were spending a lot of time together since they were both in Paris but he hadn't felt this way for her before.

Laurie suddenly blurted out "Don't marry him".

Amy stopped smiling and said in confusion "What".

Laurie said loud and clear as he walked back to her "Don't marry him".

Amy said "Why?".

Laurie leaned forward but Amy said "Laurie no you're being mean".

Laurie said "How am I being mean?".

Amy said "Stop it".

She turned to look at him and he could see sadness and fury in her eyes mixed together.

She got closer to him and said "I have been second to Jo my whole life and I will not be the person you settle for just because you can't have her I won't I won't do it".

She looked down now crying as she said "No not when I've spent my entire life loving you".

She threw down her notebook and wiped her tears and walked away from him.

Laurie looked at her as she left shock on his face.

He hadn't known that Amy had always loved him and suddenly he felt bad because he had been in love with Jo but that had been a childish love but he knew now that he was in love with Amy March.
