Amy and Laurie

chapter 4

Amy and Laurie were happily married but they were trying to figure out how they were going to break the news to the rest of the march family.

Amy was still in Paris with her husband Laurie and her sister Meg and Meg's husband John.

Laurie held Amy's arm and said "How are we going to tell the rest of your family?".

Amy said "We could write to them, but I really want to tell them in person but they're half way across the world".

Laurie said "I know but we should break the news some how".

Amy said "We should go back home and just tell them all at once".

Laurie said "Yeah let's do that".

Amy said "So we're in agreement then?". 

Laurie smiled and said "Of course why wouldn't I be?".

Amy smiled back at him and put an arm around him.

Meg came up and said "Do you guys have all your things?".

Amy said "Yep".

John said "Well then let's go".

They all take a carriage back home and Laurie goes upstairs to go tell Jo about him and Amy.

Laurie found Jo sleeping and he shook her gently so she'd wake up.

Laurie said "Jo?".

Jo woke up and said "Teddy".

Laurie smiled at her and Jo gave him a hug and he hugged her back friendly as Jo said "What are you doing here?".

Laurie said "I came to see you and the rest of the March family".

Jo said "So where's Amy".

Laurie said "Oh she's with Meg and John".

Laurie added on "There's no getting my wife out of their clutches".

Jo said surprised and confused "You and Amy?".

Laurie said "We were supposed to surprise you but now we are man and wife".

Jo said "Oh".

Jo doesn't say anything for a while and then Laurie says "Jo I've always loved you, but the love I feel for Amy is different".

Jo said "What does Amy call you?".

Laurie said with a chuckle "My lord".

Jo said with a smile "Well you look deserving of it".

Laurie said "Thanks Jo".

Jo again doesn't say anything and then Laurie says "Jo can we still be friends please".

Jo smiles and says as she ruffles his hair "Of course my boy".

Laurie hugs her again and then goes downstairs to be with Amy.

Jo makes her way downstairs and sees Amy kiss Laurie's cheek.

Meg and John are talking with Marmee and Laurie when they see that Jo has come downstairs.

Amy walks over to her sister and said "So Laurie told you?".

Jo said "Yeah just upstairs".

Amy waited for her sister to be upset but Jo said happily "Amy I'm so happy for you".

Amy took her sister's hands and said "Thank you Jo that means a lot, I really wanted to write but it all just happened so fast and I didn't even get to say goodbye to Beth".

Jo said "Yeah".

Amy said "I really miss her". 

Jo said "I know". Jo then pulled Amy in for a hug and Amy hugged her back and the two sisters hugged for a very long time before Meg went to go hug Jo.

Amy stood by Laurie and said "I'm glad we told everyone".

Laurie said as he kissed his wife on the cheek "Me too Amy, me too".
