Amy and Laurie

Chapter 8 Jo's baby shower

Jo's baby shower was approaching, and Amy and Meg were helping Jo set up for her baby shower. They had asked Marmee too and she agreed to help them.

Laurie was taking care of Beth ( Him and Amy's baby that they named after her late sister) he was also watching Meg and John's 3 children while Amy helped her sister.

He had once loved Jo but it had been a childish love and not a real love like the love he had for his wife Amy. 

Laurie watched Amy work and it made him remember why he fell in love with her and why he married her.

She had brought the light out of him, she drove him back into his work and that's what he needed. 

Amy came back over and noticed that Laurie was staring at her and she said in confusion "Laurie what's wrong, why are you staring?".

Laurie smiled at her and shook his head "Nothing's wrong, I just really love you and I fall in love with you more and more each day I don't even think it's possible to love someone as much as I love you".

Amy smiled at him lovingly and said "I love you too Laurie and I love you more and more each day".

Amy then leaned down and kissed him briefly. 

Amy said "I wish I could hang around more but Jo really needs me, I mean you could help if you want, John said he'd watch Beth for us and he said that Meg can watch their kids for a while cause she really misses them".

Laurie said "Yeah that sounds good, I'll help too".

Amy helped him up and then they both went to go help Jo.

Jo who was trying to figure out where the table should go turned around as Amy came back with Laurie.

Jo said as she rushed over to Amy and took her hands "Amy I seriously don't know what to do, I'm not even a mother yet and I can't even think of simple planning".

Amy said "Jo calm down you'll be a great mother and that is why you have me to help you".

Jo hugged her sister and said "Ugh I don't know what I'd do without you".

Amy hugged her back and said "Yeah yeah- you love me that's all that matters".

Jo pulled away and just smirked at her and then turned around and went back to trying to plan.

Jo said to Laurie "Oh hey , I see you've come to help, thank you teddy".

Laurie said "Anything for my best friend".

Jo smiled at him and then gave him a hug, Laurie hugged her back and then let her go to back to planning.

Amy was hanging up the streamers and Laurie was helping Jo set up the table.

Soon everything came together and it looked great. Jo said as she pulled Amy and Laurie into a group hug "Thanks guys, I love you you're the best".

Amy said "We love you too Jo".

Jo said "Well I'm off to go see Friedrich I hope he likes everything".

Jo then took off.

Amy turned to Laurie and said "Thanks for coming to help I know this isn't really your scene".

Laurie said "Anything for you and for Jo cause she's my best friend".

Amy smiled at him and then said quietly "Was I a second choice?".

Amy then said sadly "I know you really loved Jo, I mean you really loved her".

Laurie circled his arms around Amy pulling her into a bear hug as he said "No you were never a second choice, I married you because I love you, and yes I did love Jo but it was a childish love, it's nothing compared to the love I have for you".

Amy said "You really mean that?".

Laurie said as he leaned down to kiss her forehead "Really".
