Amy and Laurie

chapter 6

It had been a month since the Beth memorial and Amy and Laurie were very busy taking care of their 2 month old baby.

Jo was a newly pregnant woman but she still taught at the school that her and Friedrich had made for boys and girls.

Meg on the other hand was taking care of her three young children along with John.

So all the March sisters were busy nowadays.

Amy and Laurie were sleeping and suddenly in the middle of the night Beth started to cry.

Amy awoke but Laurie said as he took her hand "Go back to sleep Amy, I've got this one you need your rest".

Amy smiled at her husband in the dark and then hugged him and said "Thank you".

She then teasingly said as he embraced her back "My lord".

Laurie chuckled as he let go and then he kissed her cheek and went to go comfort Beth.

Amy smiled and said to herself as he left the one "How did I get so lucky?".

Laurie meanwhile was holding Beth and comforting her.

Laurie said "It's all right Beth, I know you're hungry".

Laurie then warmed up a baby bottle for Beth and fed her.

Beth was eating and looking up at her father and watching him with curious eyes.

Amy got up again and said "You know Laurie, she has your eyes".

Laurie turned around and said "And she has your hair".

Amy walked over to where they were and said "She truly is a miracle even if she cries a lot".

Laurie said "She's a miracle just like you".

Amy smiled at him and then kissed his cheek.

After Beth finished eating Laurie burped her and Beth continued to watch her parents with her curious eyes.

Beth then reached out her little hands to Amy and then Laurie said "I guess she wants you now".

Amy took Beth and smiled at her daughter and said "Hello my darling".

Amy then held her daughter close and kissed her cheek several times.

Laurie stood next to Amy and smiled at his daughter he then said to Beth "You are the cutest baby in the world".

Beth then did the unexpected she smiled really big at them and giggled a little.

Amy said "Oh my, her smile is so cute".

Laurie said "Her little laugh".

Beth then reached up to touch Laurie's hair.

Laurie said "I think she likes my curls".

Amy said "Of course she does, I love them".

Laurie then smiled and kissed Amy's forehead as they continued to play with their daughter.

Beth then yawned and closed her eyes and she leaned onto Amy.

Laurie whispered "I think we should put her back in her crib".

Amy whispered back and said "I'm going to do that now".

Amy then said "Goodnight my darling Beth".

Amy then lowered her into her crib and then turned to Laurie as he said goodnight to their daughter.

Amy and Laurie then went back to bed and Laurie said "I think we're going to do just fine as parents".

Amy leaned on Laurie's chest and then said "Me too love, me too".
