Amy and Laurie

chapter 7

Amy and Laurie had been pretty busy taking care of their new baby who they both adored with all their hearts.

Beth was 3 months old and getting bigger everyday.

Amy had been helping Jo with her school due to Jo being pregnant.

Meg had also been helping out whenever she could since Meg did have 3 wonderful children of her own.

Laurie had been working more and still managing to make time for Amy and their daughter Beth.

Jo said to Amy as she held her pregnant belly "Oh thank you for helping out, you don't know how much this means to me, I haven't been able to write as much or help out with the school because of my pregnancy, it's been rewarding and challenging".

Amy said "Of course, we are sisters after all and plus you helped me out a great deal when I was pregnant with Beth".

Jo brought her other hand to Amy's face and she said "I love you dear sister".

Amy said "I love you too Jo".

Jo said "Well I'm going to go make my rounds".

Jo then smiled and walked away.

Amy saw Meg laughing and playing with the children at the school.

John was watching their kids play and Laurie was feeding Beth.

Marmee was talking avidly to their dad and Amy was now taking a walk on the grounds.

Once she came back Amy stood beside Laurie and Laurie handed Beth to her after he had finished feeding her and burping her.

Amy was looking down at her daughter with nothing but love in her eyes.

Laurie said "She looks just like her mother".

Amy smiled at him and kissed him briefly before turning back to their daughter.

Amy then said "I think she looks more like her father".

Laurie said "She has your eyes".

Amy said "And she has your hair".

Laurie wrapped an arm around her as Beth fell asleep.

Amy then said "You think Meg will want to watch her for a while?".

Laurie said "I don't see why not".

Amy and Laurie then walked over to Meg who was still playing with the kids but she was taking a break after playing with them for a very long time.

Laurie said "Meg, do you want to watch Beth for us?".

Meg said as she took Beth from Amy "Of course, and you can play with the kids while I watch Beth".

Amy and Laurie then went over and played with the kids, they had a lot of fun since the kids were bundles of joy.

Amy said "This reminds me of when we were younger when Jo would tell the stories and then we'd all act them out".

Laurie said "Yeah that was always fun".

Amy then said "Beth was always the quiet one during the stories".

Laurie said sadly "Amy-".

Amy felt tears go down her eyes but she wiped them away and said looking at him "I really miss her".

Laurie said "Me too".

Laurie then hugged her and Amy hugged him back crying as Laurie said "She's watching over us now, it will be okay I promise you that".

Amy pulled back and said "I love you".

Laurie took her face and said "Love you more".

Laurie then kissed her forehead and then they went back to playing with the kids.
