"Big Sister Everly, I prepared a new set of clothes for you. I hope they fit." Liz pointed at a bag placed beside the bed. "I also ordered lunch for you. It will be here in a while. I thought you'll be hungry after waking up."
Looking at all the things Liz did, Everly felt really touched. No one had cared so much about her before.
"Liz...Thank you." She really meant it. Liz gave her a big smile.
"It's fine, we're best friends after all. By the way, I brought back your jacket that you left near the lake." Liz picked up a pink jacket that was lying under the bed. Thanks to those 'mermaids', the jacket was torn to pieces and looked more like a rag.
Everly looked at the condition her jacket was in and clutched her chest tightly. That jacket was from a well known brand. She had bought it after painstakingly saving out a portion of her money for over a year. Now looking at it being reduced to a torn rag, she felt like crying.
"Anyways, the design is very weird. I haven't seen people wearing clothes like yours anywhere. Do all people from your home town wear stuff like this?"
Everly slowly nodded, still grieving in her heart. "Yeah, they do."
"Really? I would like to visit your place if I get the chance." Liz looked excited at the idea.
Everly nervously laughed. You wouldn't be able to even if you try...
"Are you going to return? Do you miss your home?" Liz suddenly asked. Everly was at a loss of words.
Do I?
Everly wasn't sure. Except her teacher who took care of her, there wasn't anything worthwhile in her world that she missed. Furthermore, she has met more nice people in this world as compared to her previous life.
Liz saw her solemn expression and wondered if she had asked something sensitive.
"It's okay if you miss them. I'll be your friend while you're here." Liz crossed her arms and declared with a big smile.
Everly looked at Liz in surprise and suddenly laughed out loud. Her laugh was mellow and sweet. She liked Liz's style of consoling people.
"Why are you laughing?" Liz was confused.
"You're so sweet." Everly said. Liz blushed and puckered her lips.
"O-Oh? Well you-you're sweet too."
Everly laughed again at Liz's stuttering. While they were laughing and having fun, on the other side, things were changing for the worse.

In a huge macabre castle, the grand lounge was occupied by three men. One of them was a familiar looking silver haired 'beauty' that Everly would recognise at first glance. He had the same dangerous aura around him, when she had first encountered him with in that flower field. He had on the emotionless face as he twirled the wine glass in his hand.
"How's the preparation going?" A dark robed man looked at the silver haired man with a pointy look. The silver haired man scoffed in his heart.
"It is done. But how come you're sure that it would succeed according to your plan?" He smirked and looked at the dark robed man, straight in the eye.
"What are you trying to say?"
"With the power you gave me, you said that no one in the Dragon realm can defeat me. I was cornered the other day by a mere Lord. How do you explain that?"
The dark robed man was surprised but his face quickly turned black.
"That might be because of your incompetency or that you didn't use your power correctly."
