Everly looked out of the window, at the wide expanse of trees under the dim moonlight. She gave a rueful sigh and leaned against the window sill. Her thoughts were roaming around the events that have happened for the past few days. Something always seemed to happen which led to her getting herself almost killed. With her luck, she was surprised that she had lasted for so long.

"I'm too weak. This world contains endless danger for someone who doesn't have any magical abilities. Even an average person on the streets can harm me if I'm not careful."

Then there's the evil plot against the people of this realm. Everly couldn't help but feel that she is useless despite knowing their plan. Now that she thinks about it, if that person's plans succeed, it will be dangerous to stay in this realm. It might not be too hard to escape by herself but what about the people living here who are completely oblivious to all this? What about them? Moreover, she can't leave Liz and the people of the Blacksmith Pavilion. Even if the bond between them isn't that strong but there's still Liz and her family...

If only I could be as strong as Mason...then it wouldn't be much of a problem.

Everly sighed and leaned against the window with a frown. Mason did say that he has his own plans to handle this issue. Everly groaned and ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. She couldn't help but feel uncomfortable about this whole affair.

She looked at her white jade like hands that she took so much care of, her whole life. Her right hand was a little swelled because of hitting the shield. Everly stared at her hand for a moment.

That's right! She isn't completely defenceless! There's still her weird power. It gave her the ability to break apart attacks, spells and barriers and more that she might not have figured out yet. It seems like the heavens had given her another opportunity to live but she wasn't abandoned and left helpless. Her eyes glowed. If she trains this ability of hers, it can prove to be a great weapon for her!

But how do I train?

Everly thought about it for a very long time. She can't reveal her ability to anyone unless she was sure about it's origin and what its capable of.

But then, she suddenly thought of something...why did it feel like in the carriage Mason knew how her ability worked?

Everly frowned. Mason always gave her a mysterious vibe and an unusual aura that didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the people around him.

Is it possible that he might know something about my ability?

She decided to ask him tomorrow. The round of thinking had left her tired. With the problem out of the way, she gave a big yawn and dragged herself to the bed and plopped down on it. In a few moments, she was sound asleep.

The window to her room was open and drafts of wind flew in and the curtains fluttered here and there. A little ball of white light slowly came near the window and floated still in front of it, as if peeking inside the room.

It caught sight of the sleeping girl and bounced around in joy. It went up to Everly and snuggled in between her arms. Everly felt something soft and fluffy in her sleep and unconsciously hugged it. The way the white ball was glowing showed that it was feeling very happy indeed. It released a purple ray of spirit which floated around Everly's hand and a round purple symbol formed on it that glowed for a moment before going dull.

The night passed by in peace and in the morning as the sun rose above the horizon, a loud blast shook the whole house. The walls trembled and floors cracked. Everly woke up with a start and looked around, shaken and surprised. The house kept shaking as another blast landed and the wall beside her bed began to crumble and fall.
