*Callum's POV*
Ben fell asleep early into the film. He was spread across my lap so I couldn't move but I didn't really need to. I continued to watch the movie, but wanted to feel a little like how Ben must so muted the TV and tried to follow the film with just the subtitles on. It was easy as I knew the film but it was work. I can't imagine doing that for everything throughout the day. No wonder he fell asleep like a baby! Shame he couldn't continue sleeping like that. He kept tossing and turning, I wonder what he was dreaming about.
I must have fallen asleep like that too. The next thing I remember is being woken up by someone shaking me. I thought it was Ben so ignored it but it happened again so I looked to see Lexi. I looked up at her and then down to Ben. Ben was still fast asleep. I guess one of the perks of being deaf is that he couldn't hear us talking, or all the noise from being in the living room next to the busy kitchen.
Mum wants to know if you want a cuppa tea? Lexi asked.
Erm.. yeah sure. Thanks. I said groggy. My voice sounded like a monster! I suddenly looked at the time. 8.15 am. I shock Ben suddenly to wake him and went to refresh myself in the bathroom. I didn't have the time to worry. Stu and I had a meeting at the Funeral Parlor soon and I would have to go upstairs and change before we saw the people. Today was one of them super busy days. I'll be lucky if I get time for lunch.
I rushed into the kitchen at the Mitchell's, quickly had a couple of sips of the tea that Lola made me and ate a few bites of a half eaten slice of toast from Ben's plate before putting it down again for him to finish.
Dam you're looking good. Ben whispered as I walked in. Why are you in such a hurry? He said as I ate a bite of his toast.
Oh, I am running late for a thing with Stuart. I replied. A funeral thing.. Jay's already there. We can't all have a lazy morning like you! I jokingly said.
Well it's the perk of being your own boss he causally replied as I continued to put my shoes on and collected up my keys, phone and wallet from the living room. I went back into the kitchen and kissed him on the lips. Lexi held out her arms, implying she wanted a hug and so I hugged her before giving Ben one last kiss and closing the door.
So much had happened since I last walked through that door, i thought. How was it only yesterday that we were fighting and I was so ready to leave him. Ready to leave that family? But as everyone says, never fall for a Mitchell.
