"I'll go check up on Asmara." Navya hurriedly announced and I merely nodded but sighed as soon as I heard her leave and close the door. Here I am, wearing a red dress all decked up. Without my blue hair. I frowned, maybe if my hair were still blue, I would have found the strength to give him a piece of my mind.
That idiot.
Atleast my family - especially dadi, is keeping a distance from me. That's the silver lining of my cloud. Finally.
I heard the door bell and opened the door to find an almost nervous looking Virik. I instinctively pushed the door to be closed but he grabbed it and entered my room anyway before closing the door behind him.
"Look, I'm sorry about yesterday." He muttered, not meeting my eyes.
"Apology not accepted, now leave before I hit you on the head with that lamp beside my bed." I threatened and glared at him.
He sighed and started,"I'm being sincere here."
"Do you think I care?" I remarked and he muttered a few words under his breath and turned to leave. Just then, I had the most brilliant idea."Listen? Maybe you can do something for me to earn your forgiveness."
He turned and gestured me to continue.
"We still don't have a stripper for tonight, so you strip tease for us and earn your forgiveness." I spoke out loud my brilliant idea and he burst out laughing, making me glare at him.
"You're joking right?" He asked with an amused smile on his lips.
I didn't know he was capable of smiling, much less laughing. He looks..... almost good when he laughs.
"You can wear a mask." I suggested,"You fit the bill, you definitely have the body for it."
I instantly regret the words which escaped my mouth, while a not so subtle smirk forms slowly on his lips, "My body, huh?"
I feel my cheeks being heated up,"Just accept a compliment and do it."
I wasn't even able to meet his eyes.
"If we're talking about compliments, you almost look nice without that horrid blue dye on your hair."
"That's not even a real compliment." I looked up to meet his eyes and argued.
"Then what if I tell you that you look breathtakingly beautiful today? Will take ne considered a real compliment?" He offered, making me squirm.
"Are you possessed?" I asked him, sure that he indeed was possessed. Why else would Virik Jindal speak like a fellow human with the likes of I?
"Some of us Just cannot accept a compliment." He remarked observing my expressions, "See you tonight, I'll be the one with the body you love so much with a mask on my face ready for a strip tease."
And then, he left.
What in the hell just happened?
Virik agreed to be a stripper for Asmara's bachelorette party? And he talked to me? He didn't just accuse and humiliated me, but actually talked to me?
I thought about his laugh and smile and a smile of my own formed on my lips.
Get a grip on yourself, Yana.I shook the thoughts of Virik and his stupid smile out of my mind but little did I know that the sound of his laugh was going to haunt me for the rest of the day.
