Chapter 6 ~ E-Rantel Pt.1

Do y'all want more character development or more romance? Cause I'm having trouble with deciding :( Like I don't want the book to be straight plot and no romance, but I don't want to put the full thing on romance. Anyways, hope you enjoy :)

Ainz's POV

We arrive at E-Rantel after using a portal, which meant we had to be dropped off at some discrete place for safety reasons. Seeing that we were distant from other villagers, I decided to test Nabe on what she should be calling Blanks and I. "Nabe, practice what you will call Blanks and I when we are interacting with the city folk." 

"Lord Momonga and Lady Y/N" replies Nabe. Blanks and I look over at each other and sigh, knowing that the whole point of changing our names was to reduce suspicion, but here she was using Lord and Lady. "Nabe, try again but without the Lord and Lady title. This is a command." "Momonga-sa...san and Y/N-sa...n" she replies. "It sounds a little awkward but this will do for now. Try to make it more casual in the future" says Blanks.

Flashback (In the office, several hours back)

"And what shall we do with the village? 

"Carne Village is the only foothold we obtained on friendly terms. Avoid creating a negative image as much as possible."

"Understood. That was the last of my daily report."

"Good work." 

"I am undeserving of such words! As the Supreme One, as well as the one I love, please use me in any way you wish. 

I look over at Blanks, who was just sitting on the couch chilling, only to see her laughing at the situation that was unraveling in front of her eyes. I take a deep breathe and say "Albedo. Your feelings toward me are something I warped inside of you. That's why..." "Is there any problem with that?" replies Albedo. Huhhhhh???? I look over at Blanks only to see that she was as surprised as I was. I'm glad she never saw the part where I also wrote her name down when configuring Albedo's personality. I saw it was only fair seeing that we were best friends and this would've been her dream. 

"Lord Ainz, there is only one important thing. Does it cause you trouble?" 

"N-No, that's not the case." 

"Then, is there any problem with it? I believe there isn't a problem."

I maintain eye contact with Albedo while I talk with Blanks via GM Call, 'I shouldn't have messed with Tablula's settings!' She laughs and replies, 'You're telling me, but the way she reacted was way more different than I thought she would.' I nod to agree. 

"I am sure Lord Tabula Smaragdina would forgive you, like a father would when marrying off his daughter." says Albedo. "Y-You think so?" I reply. Albedo is about to reply when there is a knock at the door.

"It is Shalltear, she desires an audience." "Shalltear, huh? Let her in" I reply. "Lord Ainz and Lady Blanks, I am pleased to see you two doing so well." says Shalltear while slowly sauntering towards the table. I look over at Blanks to see if she's gonna say anything but she was just on the couch silently watching. "Ah yes, you too, Shalltear. So what is it that you came here for?" I ask. "But of course, I desire nothing more than to gaze upon your beauty, milord and milady." replies Shalltear. "Are you done? Lord Ainz and I are discussing the future of the Great tomb of Nazarick right now, would you mind not interfering?" says Albedo clearly annoyed that Shalltear showed up in the first place.
