Chapter 8 ~ Late night chats

Surprise!!! Double update! (You don't have to read anything in the bold below, but it might be useful for understanding my future chapters) Oh yeah, don't worry! I will be putting more of the girls in here for harem, but Nabe is convenient so that's why she's been having the spotlight.

Let me introduce y'all to how most mangas nowadays show that there is a filler/special chapter. Manga writers will typically just do a .1 to symbolize it, but if there is a second or third part, they'll just change it to .2 or .3 It ain't nothing important, but if you've ever read manga or want to read manga, this is just a heads up for y'all. This one is not an example but yes, I will be doing some special chapters that sometimes do or don't involve the actual plot. It will be small events here and there, but I hope you guys can still enjoy them :) This one is an example

To make things more clear, when I do whole numbers, it follows the plot of the story. Like in this case, this scenario is when you wake up after resting for a bit and get up only to realize Nabe is also up. If I ever do a decimal after a chapter, it means that it's comin' from left field and isn't fully part of the story. I know it's heckin confusing but I hope that y'all understand as the chapters go by.

Y/N's POV

I groan after resting my eyes for what felt like hours, only to open them and see that the night sky is still up, although it's already lighter than usual. I move my neck a bit to see that Ainz was still asleep but Nabe was no longer there. I grab some random clothing from my inventory and fold it so it's somewhat like a pillow and place it under Ainz's head as I moved away from him. After what felt like a few close calls, I finally get up and stretch. "Oh? Y/N-saa...n, you're awake?" asks Nabe behind me, startling me in the process. "Yeah, I doubt I can rest any more, plus you weren't there when I woke up so I thought to come and make sure you were okay." I reply. "I thank you for your caring behaviour towards me, I simply woke up just like you and couldn't sleep again so I've been scouting the area." I nod and yawn as I stretch again. 

"Oh? Your hair is down, Nabe?" 

"Yes, it was bugging me as I was trying to rest. I apologize, do you not like it? I can put it back up the way it was." 

I shake my head and smile, "I think you look beautiful, don't worry about it." She blushes and thanks me. "Will you walk with me?" I ask her. She nods and says "I will go wherever I am commanded." "Well I would rather that it was by your own choice and not by command but that works too I guess" I say in a tone that would make her think I was displeased. In reality, I wasn't I just wanted to tease the poor girl. "I-I apologize, I did not mean it like tha-" "It's fine, I'm just playing with you" "Mouuuu, please do not tease me like this, Lady Blanks." I sigh and say "Y'know, just because we're sort of far away from the rest of them, doesn't mean you can just drop the act. We still need to be cautious, okay?" she nods. I start walking towards the sunset and grab a blanket from my inventory and lay it down. I sit down, only to see Nabe standing behind me. I sigh and grab her hand and pull her down so she's sitting. And just in case, I cast the spell from earlier one more time.

"Y'know even if it's just an act in front of humans, I would like it if you weren't so stiff around me." I say without even looking at Nabe. "But I cannot, you are a supreme being, and I am but a lowly servant." she replies. "You're lucky that I cast noise barrier spell, I don't even want to imagine if someone were to hear you. Regardless, I'm not telling you to be completely lackluster, but just be more comfortable when addressing me, or when it's just the two of us, okay?" "I- I understand Y/N-sa...n" she replies. We're gonna have to eventually work on that but she'll get the gist of it. I grab a water bottle from my inventory, not that I needed it, but it was probably good for my body.

"Y/N-saa...n? I have a question if you do not mind"

"Go for it." I reply as I take a sip of water. "Have you ever been in love?" she asks. I choke on my water out of shock. "Y/N-san?! Are you okay?" asks Nabe. I cough out the rest before replying, "Yeah, you just caught me completely off guard with that question." 

"I apologize if I am overstepping my boundaries." 

"No no, you're fine. Why so sudden though?" 

"I've just been curious about love lately." she replies. I nod and say, "Hmmmm, I haven't been very lucky with love y'know" "What do you mean?" she asks. "Well, I don't want you to take it in a bad way, but I've been in many relationships. Not all of them have been bad, but I've gotten my heart broken many times" I reply with a sad smile. "You've gotten your heart broken? Who are they?! How dare they break the heart of a supreme leader!" says Nabe with fury. I grab her hand to calm her down and say, "It's fine, it was a while ago. Love is like a double-edged sword, Nabe. You need to be careful with your heart and emotions. When you're in love, you're basically giving them your heart, and they can break it at any point in time, but they can also treat it with love. And if it's really love, you will also have their heart. A-Ah, I apologize for rambling, but just know I'm not saying this for you to be scared and lock it down. But instead be careful, got it?" She nods in awe, "Wow Y/N-san, you know a lot about love huh?" I laugh and reply, "You can say it like that, but know that I might not be the best for asking for help at a successful relationship, cause as you can see, I'm currently not in one. I sometimes wonder if I was truly the issue in my relationships." I say while admiring the sunset. 

"Of course not! Lady Blanks is a beautiful and caring being! If anything, they were the one in the wrong, and they simply were not deserving of you." says Nabe in a way as if I was currently going through a breakup. I laugh and kiss her cheek, "Thank you for your kind words, I feel better, and I'm not being sarcastic." She blushes and nods. I look behind us to see that they were all starting to wake up. "Well, I'd like to thank you for talking with me, and I hope that we'll be able to do this in the future." I tell Nabe. "Of course, if anything I would like to thank you for spending time with me. And I would be honoured to be able to talk with you like this in the future" she replies as I smile and nod. "Hey Nabe, do you know what a pinky promise is?" "No, I apologize but I have never hard of such thing." 

"Here, give me your hand." I tell her, as she looks confused but give me her hand, "Now, clench your hand into a fist, now stick out your pinky." She does so and I replicate the form and link my pinky with hers. "H-Huh? Y/N-san?" "Now you can say you've experienced a pinky promise and to me, a pinky promise is the highest form of trust and commitment. It might not mean as much to you guys, because you guys already have sworn it with your loyalty, but I still think it's cute. Anyways, this means that we have to have another talk like this one day, got it?" I ask her. "I think I understand." she replies. 

"Oh yeah, before we go back let me tie your hair for you" "H-Huh? But I cannot have a Supreme Being do things for me." "Just think of it as a present then" "O-Okay." She hands me her ribbon and I gently comb through her hair and tie it up for her. "Perfect now that you're even cuter, not that you weren't cute earlier, you can go appeal to whoever you've been crushing on. And if you ever need help with your hair or an outfit come find me. Now let's go back before they think we're plotting something." I say with a laugh. We both get up and I put the blanket back in my inventory, as we both walk back towards the campsite.
