Saying, "I love you"
Does not magically fix everything.
It can not form the key to my locked heart.
Or break through walls built of cement
Carefully created around my thoughts
Over the time I have been hurting.
Saying, "I love you"
Can not fix me.
And it will not fix you.
Or us.But saying, "I love you",
In comfort, in embraces,
In listening ears,
And patience through the storms I bring upon myself
And upon those around me;
May slowly fix things.
May begin to chip away at the locks
And at the walls.
It may save me.
Save us.But you couldn't be bothered
To say "I love you"
In more than just hurried words
When I undress for you.
