Please enjoy reading, love y'all 😍😍😍
The cold burnt through the atmosphere, losing the innocence of warmth in the body of Lozen. The moon was up, round and not in a haste of any kind to leave the midnight sky.
Ersa was conflicted, not with emotions but intelligence. Thinking of numerous ways to penetrate the palace of Polias, without raising alarms or suspicion and killing the other shape shifting lamia whose now changed it's appearance to that of the city's general.
The palace of Polias, was a fortified place with guards at every entrance and exit. It was a military city and behaved as such, getting caught in a place like this could result in death or worst,a tortured life in a dungeon. The latter was what scared Lozen the most as she listened to Ersa rambling about a plan.
"Did you get all of it? It's imperative you understand this plan. It's well thought of and if we adhere to it. There's a small chance we'll not get killed," said Ersa, looking quizzicallly at Lozen.
Lozen was distracted, reminiscing the memories of a certain someone, whose laughter and cheer echoed in her mind non stop.
"Lozen! Are you with me?" asked Ersa.
Lozen was quickly out of memory's lane, and back to reality, to cruel reality, where hope was always squashed by chance.
"I'm here, what did you say?" questioned Lozen. "So are we going in now or are we still waiting on your grand plan?."
Ersa exhales sharply, "I've been talking about the plan, for a while now, where did your thoughts take you to this time? Since we've been here you've been utterly distracted,"
"Distracted? I've just been thinking of a plan you know, we can't just storm in," said Lozen.
"Oh Hera! I have a plan! I've been saying that plan for a good one hour now..."
"I don't think so. I have a better plan than that of yours, we can sneak in through the cookery, it's the least guarded place in the palace- then head up to the infirmary, dress up like physicians to gain access to the general's chambers, where she'll be probably taking a nap. Then we stab her or it, in it's sleep. Simple" said Lozen, waving her hands around to emphasize.
Ersa shakes her head in dismay, "That's literally what my plan was, you just copied everything I said-"
"No I don't think so," interrupted Lozen. "It's my plan, I just thought of it, that's why I wasn't paying attention to whatever it is that you're rambling about,"
"Me? Rambling? I've been brainstorming for so long an hour now, coming up with a brilliant plan, and you take credit for it, just like that," whispered Ersa harshly.
"Are you angry? Do you need a breast milk you big baby," Lozen chuckles. "I'm just messing with you, that's all,"
"You're annoying, and a narcissistic jerk," said Ersa, feeling a bit frustrated.
"Oh! Grow up, I barely understand the words that come out of your mouth sometimes," said Lozen.
"That's because your brain is..."
"Let's go in, we're wasting time, you could get your fill of abusive words later,"
"Promise me something before we go." said Ersa, with a hint of sincerity in her voice.
"What is it now, are we going to sing a lullaby before we go in and kill people," asked Lozen.
"Kill people? We're not killing anybody- I repeat we're not killing anyone. It's an infiltration mission, we only kill the lamia, that's all, nobody else, no guards or staffs of the palace," said Ersa, trying to clerify a point.
