Chapter 36-Next Destination

But nobody obeyed; they stared at her, like a person that had lost her insanity, so she tried again. "I am your Regent. You shall all bow to me." she screamed again, but no one believed her, no one bowed or flinched, they just stood there staring at her, a wailing sound came from an injured person, but no one moved still, until Autumn swiped her hands, and a small vibrations began to resonate from the ground,  and at every slain body on the battle fied, a tree began to grow from their bodies, itb was tiny and slender at first, then as it sprouted out, from the blood and bare flesh, it widened into a proporous tree, wide and hearty, it had large branches nad beautiful leaves of a lush black petals, and they blossomed and filled up the branches, and the battlefield was transfored into a forest, and all present gasped and wowed in surprise, they stared at gazed at what wonder Autumn could create.

Soon every one could hear her, as she bellowed. "I have been given this powers by the goddess Demeter, who advocated for my soul. I am your Regent. You shall bow to me!" said she, as as her voice echoed, one by one every guard and the few farmers alive, went on their kneels, with their heads bowed. hail our Regent! they chorused.

It was from that day that that forest was named, 'FOREST OF THE BLACK PETALS' it couldnt be called a celebration or a victory from any side of this saddened history, because no side won, they both lost.

Autumn brought justice, she ordered the capture of the entire cult of Sito, they she disbanded the sisterhood of Vestals, and a calmness was established after the storm in the whole city of Ceres, but it came with a prize.

A few dawns pasted till Rode and Tiki was ready to journey to Juventas to complete their intended mission, their carrage waited for them at the Temple of Demeter, it was a miracle that either Rode nor Guero were not severyly injured in the previous battle, it could be because of their skills as warriors, or protection from the goddesses them selves, but they didnt care for the least reason, the trios faces were lit up with a joyfulness and empathy, it wasnt a long while before May walked up to Tiki, they sky air was airy with a sweet fragrance of blossoming petals.

"I came to wish you goodbye," said May. "we both knew this is how it was going to end, we being apart."

"I dont regret a moment we spent together, I wish I did. But I dont. and if you think this thing between us has ended, then you know nothing about me, yeah,"

"thats the thing. I dont want you to come back for me, every time im with you, it feels wrong, like being with you is forbidden, like destiny wants us apart,"

“then I promise to fight destiny just to be with you, I shall the goddesses themselves. I shall fight every that comes btween us,"

"you do not understand. You cant make promises like that, cried may, her eyes were glistening with tears. my mother made that promise, she died not furfilling he promise. The sisterhood of vestals made that promise, some of them actually tried to kill me, they failed to furfill that promise too. Now you want to promise me that, I cant have it, I cant have any of it, I dont believe you. . . no I wont believe you. So do not make me that promise again.
what then do you want me to do? To leave you alone, huh? You know I cant do that,"

"you  have no choice. The new Regent, Autumn, has offered me a position to be her advisor, to help her mange and rule this city, even if you come back I wont be with you. My calling is here, to be of service to the goddess Demeter and my city, I do not think ill know any other thing than this,"

"I wont give up on you, said Tiki blankly.
please go . . ."

And he did, he walked away from her on the steps of the temple,  but then he stopped abruptly and spoke, "What memories shall you leave this time? Will it be the one of us making love or the one where you storm off in anger, with your pleasant smile or your temper? You fade away every time youre next to me, and like a bad dream you expect me to forget you. What would that give me other than madness, no form of expression and words will ever heal me agin. How do you expect me to just leave you?”

"I dont know, Tafiki. And right now, I dont care . . ." replied may.
Anger stired up inside of Tiki, "Do you make jest of my sorry state? Does my heartbreak amuse you? Then I shall be a fool, but a fool who fels, who loves and who isnt afraid to show affection. I will not hide behind flavored words, but only in my actions. I will come back for you, and nothing you say will change that." Then he walked down the steps and went into the horse carraige, he didnt look back because he knew he was coming to Ceres soon one day. 

Meanwhile, Rode was conversing with Guero, her mask of playfulness was on, and it looked like she had changed her mind about the Herean games, her eyes darted else where as words came out of her mouth, she seemed distracted, "what was that last part, meanie? I didnt quite hear you." said Guero.

"I was talking about you, about coming with us to Juventas."

Guero snickered. "I know you enjoyed our moments together, but it was all just for fun. You shouldnt take any of it seriously,"
"what do you mean by that?"

"I am a wind, a whisper, a silent wind, I am just an idea. I have no responsibilities, not to you, not to anyone. I dont know where I might go next, the journey is in the discovery I guess, so all that between us was just
fun. . ."
"why dont I believe you?"

"does it matter if you do?"

"can I say one last thing?"

"I have to go now,"

"I do not know why your beautiful smile always make me smile when I look at them. Maybe we should pluck them out, hold an art gallery and put them in a box. How people would love to see them, or maybe im too possessive for that, so much that I want to hide them for myself and look upon it whwn my day is rue. But they say the eyes are the doorway to the soul, and I always see your eyes flicker and rejoice in the splendor of my touch. But your emotions are bleak, you only bask in lust, not in affection, its confusing but I understand. You do not belong to me, or yourselve. Youre still trying to figure out who you are, and I dont want to stand in the way of that. Goodbye Guero,"

Guero never uttered a word, she looked soulful and deep in thought, and fpor a moment it seemed like she would utter a word, but she remained silent still and walked away. Rode drily walked to the horse carrage, and the horse man sped off, their next destination was Juventas.
