This is a long one, please remember to vote, and I encourage you to comment, for support.
They galloped away, with a slow pace, because the group reckoned nobody will be foolish enough, to follow them to a land where death was sure, which was past the boundaries walls, they almost walked for a day, till they discovered it was barely mid-day, and the sun was in a competition with itself, to find out what's it's hottest temperature, it could possibly raise in moments.
Sweat etched on the groups' faces, Guero still lay unconscious, slung behind Rode on the horse's back, their journey was silent so far, nobody wanted to die with loose words on their lips, no one except Tiki, who was feeling the brink of the solar heat, "I think this is the worst scenario I've been in so far in Ceres. Yeah, I mean, I've been chased by an actual scary monster and some human faced maggots, certainly almost killed by the city's guards, and now—now I'm riding in a place infected by an air-borne virus, literally my worst scenario so far," said Tiki, the whining in his voice screamed volumes of his frustration, the scorching of the sun was enough to cause a breakdown.
"We were in the same situations earlier, but you don't see me whining about it like an over-privileged boy child, do you?" asked May, briefly annoyed and certainly irritated.
Breaking up the conversation, Rode pointed towards a spot that lay onwards. "I see something ahead, looks like a fog," said she, her mind was more concerned about the well being of Guero, so much that she could muster to believe.
Surely, a thick fog lay beneath where they were riding, there in the meadow they approached, thick and clouded like an old memory, and also, to the group's astonishment, they gazed upon something magical, it was a forcefield, that had the purpose of preventing anyone to go in or out of the place it protected, it was to be the last precaution, if someone was to foolishly go past the boundary walls, the force field was spherical, almost transparent, it shone like a bubble, and light fizzled on to it, then spiraling into different strands of green, blue and red colours, that reflected unto the ground, it was simply put; a magical barrier.
"Who would put a barrier here? Why waste so much time and effort in sealing of this entire lands?"asked Tiki, doing his best effort of pondering.
"Have you forgotten the virus? This, I think—is just extra protection, for the suicidal delinquents such as ourselves for instance," uttered May, with an impudence.
"So what you're saying is that what we've pasted through, have been the least infected area in Lower-Ceres?" asked Tiki. "Why would they leave some places bare and some locked with a magical barrier?"
"I don't know, Tafiki, the high council of vestals always have good reasons for every thing, I believe." replied May.
"Yeah sure, I believe they do." said Tiki, clearly unfazed by May's insistence of mistaking his name for a made-up one.
"The question here is how we're going to go through, we can't go back . . . The guards would be expecting us that way," said Rode, she unmounted her horse, being careful not to disturb the slumbering Guero, she paced where the barrier began, tried gazing at it with an intensity, then she tried to penetrate it, stretching an arm towards it's outer skin.
Like lightening, the barrier tried to electrocute Rode, buzzing surges into her body, although it wasn't much that went through her, before she pulled away, it stung like a thousand bees all bit her in a single spot, Rode soothed her tempered hand, plain in shock. "I don't think we can get through. It's enchanted with deep rooted magic."
"Unless one of us knows the magic words to release it." said Tiki, then he turned his head to look at May with a suspicion, Rode also glared at her for solution.
