Good news guys, Daughters of Hera has 1k reads!!! Yay!!!
Thanks for reading so far, don't forget to vote and comment. The white mare which Chilton now rode fiercely, had never done this before. It had galloped fast and was never quite stubborn, but now it whined and neighed when it got closer to to the edge of a large hill, where the grasses where etched to the ground, green and naturally trimmed.
Maybe it was the hill, for immediately after it was a valley, which flowed the river Nuel, or was it the crows that cawed distastefully, having such inclination or control from someone mystical as they covered the sky with their wings, rotating alike in a circular motion creepily, or it might have sensed danger which came into realization, as a few undead attackers strolled out, they were firstly hidden under the shadow the wings of the crows had cast.
This was the tipping point of the mare, so much that although hearing the soft calming voice of Chilton telling it to relax and be calm, it raised it's front legs as high as it could and neighed loudly, then it literally tipped Chilton over, her back was the first thing that hit the ground before her petite body, leaving her to grit her teeth, to yelp in surprise at the pain of falling hard on the grassed ground, then the mare turned around hysterically as if in a deadly trance, galloping away in such a frightful hurry.
Chilton watched as it ran leaving only a white blur, cursing and wishing for a more braver mare, but the undead attackers didn't hold this same sentiment or thought, so they did what any undead attacker would, they attacked.
They growled and snarled, with shattered teeth's like that of animals in the wild trying to snack on it's prey. Their flesh were rotten and smelt worst than they looked. Their clothes were tattered and worn out, like they were buried with them.
Chilton wore only a discolored blouse tunic and black fitting tights she stole alongside a bow and quiver of arrows, the arrows were put to good use as she stood up, shooting several of them, they made a furious hissing sound as they lobbed past to the chests of the weapons wielding attackers, it was done with an upmost fury, the the agony of death still burnt in her heart and vengeance in her mind.
She walked past the lying bodies, only to notice that the wisps of smoke did not sparrow out, like it did in her previous encounter with the undead bodies, but at this point it skipped her mind.
Curiousity made her to scurry forward till she saw a dimly lit cave, made with grass covered mounds and rocks, before she could enter, there was a low growl that surfaced the air, Chilton looked back only to find the undead she had just shot, with her arrows that she stole still in their chest, they still snarled and were more pissed off than earlier.
"Why don't you all just stay down!" she exclaimed in frustration, as they dragged their feet to catch up with her, with aggrieved faces that dripped rotten flesh and axes held carelessly, on their loose mostly skeletonized hands.
Scared, she retreated back only to be followed. Hurriedly she set an arrow on her bow's string and was directing it towards the enemies, only to stumble upon a rock, finding balance, then crumpling to the ground.
It was a more than a blessing in blissful disguise as she misfired her arrow in plain astonishment, it darted luckily to one of the undead attackers head, crunching it's skull.
The attacker fell immediately, its movement stayed stagnant, its white blank eyes became shut, this time permanently.
So this is how you die, she thought briefly. They others were almost too close to her now, swinging their axes sharply, trying to sever her head.
While dodging an axe flashing down from above, she stood up valiantly, then fired at their heads swiftly, shattering their skulls in decisive strikes, they crumpled to the ground in defeat.
