(Y/n)'s POV

I looked back to see my mother leaving her Dragon Jade Hairpin. I grabbed it and placed it at my hair. I opened my window and crawled out of it. I began running to the woods beside my family's house. I stopped as I take one last look of the house. I bowed.

"Forgive me, father, mother, nee-san and nii-chan.. Please forgive me for I have to run away from home..." I said and stood straight. After one last look, I ran into the forest.

'It should be fine right? I mean.. I already packed up everything I could gather and placed a note at my futon. I hope they understand...' I thought as I continued running deeper into the woods.

The note:

Ohayo, oka-san, oto-san,
nee-san, Shota-chan...

I'm sorry but I have to run away from home for awhile. I need to prove to you that I am capable of being a Demon Slayer. I need to prove to you that I'll be fine.

I promise I'll get back home without a scratch. I promise I'll come back after I at least kill a demon.

Please don't worry about me, I'll be okay. But... If I don't get back after a week... I need to say my apologies.

I promise to make you proud, father. Please understand.

I sighed as I slid my Katana back into my scabbard. "That was easy." I said as I look at the ashes getting blown away by the wind. To think that I already captured a Demon at Day 3.

I scoffed at the ashes. I took a glance to the little boy whom was almost Demon food. I crouched down and turned my back as it faced him.

The kid stared confused as he wiped away some of his tears of fear from the demon I killed. I turned my head to face him.

"Get on, I'll bring you back home. You don't want your parents to worry right?" I said. He nodded and slowly climbed on, making me giving him a piggyback ride.

I managed to catch some information about what happened to the kid, Jin. Found out that Jin had a lot of curiosity. Normal for kids, I guess. He was sleeping, heard some noises decided to follow it.

Hm... Sounds a bit cliche.

(A/n: INTO THE UNKNOW-)

I shook the voice out of my head. "Is this your house, Jin?" I asked. Hearing his name, he lifted his head up. His eyes lingered to the house in front of us. He nodded. I smiled and set him down. He held my hand and looked at me.

I nodded and knocked on the door. "Gomen'nasai! Anyone home?" I exclaimed. When I concentrated a bit, I can hear a bunch of whispered-yelled noises and smelt a very distressed smell. I immediately knew it was Jin's parents.

Then the next thing I know the parents bear hugged me saying a million thank you's, maybe even more..

"What's a 10 year old doing in the middle of the night?" The father of Jin asked.

"O-Oh! Just patrolling!" I lied as I sheepishly rubbed the back of my neck.

"Please come in! It's really not safe this late at night!" The mother exclaimed.

"No! I sh-"

Suddenly I felt a huge wave of discomfort. It's not from Jin's house nor the town I'm in. I turned around and took another smell.
