After twenty minutes pondering on which swimsuit I decided on the electric blue bikini and black swim skirt. I then threw on a loose grey t-shirt and short shorts. I brought my chocolate brown hair up to a high pony tail and grabbed my ray bands.
The doorbell rang and I made my way downstairs.
"Have a good time, sweetheart." Dad spoke from the kitchen.
"Thanks, see you later." I said. I may be speaking to him but not too much. Andrew was in the front porch with a grey tank top and blue swim trunks. He had his own Ray bands on and a baseball cap on backwards.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yep, let's go." I said. Recently I've been talking to everyone a little more. I had to get Brody and Andrew off of each other's necks somehow and only talking did that. We climbed in opposite ends of the car and Mr. Hart drove.
Once we arrived I saw Brody stroll down to the car. Andrew and I got out and Brody gave me a side hug. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Andrew mad. I'll have to ask him about that later.
"I'm glad you could make it." Brody said with a lopsided grin.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world." That made his grin turn into a full on smile. His smile was always contagious cause next thing I know, I'm smiling too.
Brody led us to the backyard where tons of people were already there.
"Come on let's swim." Brody said pulling on my arm. I tugged back and frowned.
"Not right now, Brody." I said. I didn't want him to see my scars just yet... Or not at all. His smile dropped a notch and sighed. His eyes then brightened again.
"Hey, Andrew, I bet I can swim better than you!" He taunted. I chuckled to myself as they raced over to the pool forgetting they still had their shirts on. I sat down next to Lucas's girlfriend and chatted. Kylie has short black hair and had sparkling blue eyes. Suddenly I felt myself be picked up.
I heard a laugh that could only belong to Brody. He ran to the pool with me and began swaying me towards the pool.
"Brody, don't you dare!" I screeched. I could feel the laugh vibrations from him. Just then I felt myself fly toward the pool.
Resurfacing I playfully glared at Brody who was laughing his head off.
"Ha ha very funny Brody, but you threw me in with all of my clothes on. Now they're wet! You're just lucky I didn't have my phone in my pockets." He just continued to howl in laughter.
"Just lay them out in the sun and enjoy swimming." He suggested. That actually didn't sound that bad.
"Fine, be that way!" I yelled with another playful grin. Without thinking I took my sopping wet shirt off welcoming the sun shining down. I heard gasps come from those around me and I realized what I had done.
"Jennifer, what happened to your back?" Brody asked with his voice full of concern. I looked around and saw others whispering amongst each other.
"Freak"
"She must have done something bad!"
"I bet she self inflicted those." Wet, salty tears began in to trickle down my already wet cheeks. So I did what every sensible person would do, run. I'm not sure where to. I just ran through the house into a random room.
I'm pretty sure I ran into the guest bedroom in the den area downstairs. It was pretty big for a guest bedroom, maybe the size of my dad's master room. The den was huge let alone the house. I'm honestly not sure how to get back to the front door.
