Friday is here! I thought to myself. It was free period which meant I was hanging out with Brody and Layla. Andrew sorta ditched us to go get a snack.

"Hey change of plans, I'm picking you up at five instead of four." Brody said.

"Wait you're going on a date?" Layla asked. I looked over to her. She looked so happy with her boyfriend it was so sweet. Keith wasn't really paying attention. He was just interested in his book. "Hello, earth to Jen." Layla said snapping her fingers in my face.

"Oh, no, I'm going with Brody to his family's business dinner."

"Oooo is it fancy."

"Yep," I said popping the 'p'.

"What are you going to wear?"

"I don't know, something from my closet."

"Girl, we need to go shopping. I've seen your closet and you have nothing for a formal wear." I rolled my eyes at this. "Come on, it will be fine."

"Ok, we'll go to the mall."

"Yay, I should totally come over and get you all ready for you date." She said with so much enthusiasm I didn't know was possible.

"Date? You're going on a date with who?" Andrews voice asked from behind me.

"Brody," Layla answered before I could speak.

"Huh?" Said both Brody and Andrew.

"It's not a date! It's a business dinner for his family."

"But still," Andrew said.

"Oh loosen up Andy." Layla said with a taunting smile. He hated that nickname.

"Fine Lays chips." Andrew countered. He mouth dropped down low and she looked about ready to lunge at him and go for the throat. That is, until Keith spoke up.

"Come on, baby, let's go get a snack." That preoccupied her and the couple left the group.

"Well, ok then, Jen I have to go to pe if I'll make in time. See you tomorrow." That only left Andrew and me alone in the halls. I took the silence as an opportunity to leave. He didn't follow so I just continued walking to my volleyball class.

"Here," Layla said shoving a couple more dresses in my hands and pushing me to the changing rooms. I honestly was getting sick of this. Today was Saturday so I was kinda forced to do this.

After a long time searching, I found the prefect dress. It was black just above the knees with lace sleeves and a scoop neck. By the time we arrived back at my place t was 3:30. We had an hour and a half. I took a shower this morning so we immediately started. I did my hair while Layla started on makeup.

At the end I had my hair half up and down with loose curls and natural makeup except I had darker lips. Adding some two-inch stilettos I walked down the stairs and waited for Brody.

Right at five o'clock he rang the doorbell and I answered it with a big smile. Brody was in a white button down shirt. With a black tie and off black pants. He actually combed his hair and had something other than high tops as shoes.

"Wow, you look amazing, Jen." I blushed and smiled.

"Don't look so bad yourself. Ready to go?"

He nodded and led the way. Well as best as he could due to his crutches. His parents we outside in the car. Karen was just touching up her makeup when she spotted us. She smile was very bright and clear.
