The Shirt

Phoenix sat at his desk going over the case file. It was late, but he wasn't sure how late it was, since Trucy took his office clock for one of her magic tricks. Trucy and Pearl had already gone to bed a while ago. He was thrilled that Pearl and Maya were staying with them for a while. He smiled as he thought of Maya previously running around the office pointing out what had changed and what was still the same when they landed from Khura'in that previous day.

As soon as he thought of her, Maya strolled into his office with a smirk on her face. It's as if they had this psychic connection. "Hey Nick." She said in an unfamiliar tone of voice. "Maya you're sti—" He froze when he looked up and saw her in one of his dress shirts. It was about three times too big on her and reached down to her mid-thigh, exposing her really really hot and toned calves. She kept the shirt closed with her right hand.

Phoenix blushed. "I uh...what's...up Maya?" Maya went on her knees on the chair in front of his desk and laid her available hand on the chair back. "I was wondering if it was okay if I wore this to bed. It's really cold in the guest room." She said, still in that foreign tone Phoenix wasn't familiar with.

Phoenix cleared his throat. "O-Of course. Sorry about that. The guest room is drafty." He stammered. Maya smiled. "Thanks Nick." She said. She let go of the dress shirt, exposing what was underneath...a really short nightgown.

Phoenix looked away quickly, embarrassed to see what he was seeing. The nightgown was mesh, so he could see other parts of her he thought he would never see in his life. She was his best friend in the entire world, he couldn't think of her that way. No Phoenix, she's your best friend! He scolded himself.

So why is he thinking the thoughts he was currently thinking?!

Maya noticed this and smirked. All was going according to plan. She had planned to confess to Nick when they were in Khura'in, but she decided to hold off until she felt the time was right. Well, the time was now, and the method although rather unorthodox, was apparently effective.

She walked over to Phoenix, still smirking. "What's wrong, Nick? Is there something on me?" she asked flirtatiously. Phoenix bashfully looked at her, "I uh...so when did you..." he was at a loss for words. "What, get so...hot?" "...beautiful?" he muttered dreamily. She was definitely not the silly teenager he had met over 10 years ago now.

Now it was Maya's turn to blush, but she had to keep going. She walked up to Nick and leaned close to him, with her knee between his two legs. She cupped his cheeks. "M-Maya...!" he squeaked out. His heart was racing.

"How about we take this somewhere else?" she asked seductively. He looked at her lips and back into her now dilated pupils. "Why wait?" Phoenix whispered, completely disregarding his logic from earlier. He pulled her close and attacked her lips sweetly, but passionately.

Eventually, they broke away and gazed at each other with lustful eyes. At this point, Maya was completely straddling him. "Why didn't you just tell me that you..." Phoenix muttered, still starstruck. Maya giggled. "Well, I thought this would have been more fun."

He attacked her lips again, pulling on her bottom lip with his teeth, making her grunt. He ran his hands up and down her spine, feeling all of her curves through her nightgown, as his dress shirt was thrown to the ground.

Maya pulled away and loosened his tie and threw it next to his abandoned dress shirt and started unbuttoning the vest and the dress shirt he was wearing.

Phoenix stopped her and held her wrists. "Are...you sure?" he asked cautiously. Maya smiled down at him. "I've never been more sure about anything in my entire life." She said, removing her wrists from his hands and peeling off his shirt. He smiled back at her and went in for the kill for the third time that night.

Poor Charley. He didn't need to witness all of what happened next.
