Chapter 5

A few days after the accident, Bella and Evelyn were joined with their friends at the lunch table.

"Hey, La Push, babes, you in?" Eric asked them as he sat down

Bella and Evy looked at each other confused and then looked back at Eric with a questioning look.

"La Push beach down on the Quileute rez. We're all going tomorrow" Mike spoke

"Yea there's a bid swell coming in" Jessica explained next

"There's whale watching too. Come with us" Angela begged them

"Sorry guys I already have plans to go meet one of my friends Jacob" Evy apologized

"Alright Evy's out, what about you, Bella? La Push, baby, it's La Push" Eric says

"Ok I'll go if you stop saying it like that" Bella says with a small laugh

The next morning Evelyn got up and got dressed. She met her father downstairs and they both got into his police car. Charlie and Evy pulled up to the red house. Evelyn hasn't been there since Billy explained everything. She felt way more comfortable this time.

Billy smiled as Evy got out the car, " How are you feeling Evelyn?"

"I'm feeling a lot better." Evelyn replied with a smile. Evelyn has been going to training everyday during the week, afterschool.

Billy gave a small smile, "That's good. He's out back in the garage"

Evelyn smiled and headed for the back of the house. Once she walked into the garage she saw Jacob under the hood of an old looking car.

"Hey, Jacob. What are you doing?"

He looked a bit stunned but once he shook it off he smiled, "I am currently working in my future car. I'm gonna get it to start working."

"Cool, well I hope you don't mind company as you're working" Evelyn smiled

Just a few minutes later two boys walk in. They joke about how they thought Jacob was lying about a girl coming over.

Evelyn laughed "Hey, I'm Embry and this is Quil." the lighter boy introduced

"Evelyn Swan" she introduced back.

"We know. Jake couldn't stop talking about the fact that you were coming" Evelyn and Jake blushed avoiding eye contact.

"So what are you doing here?" Embry asked

"Just for the company" Evy shrugged

"Well then you chose the worst company" Quil remarked. Jacob lunged at Quil and then the two started wrestling right there.

"I bet five bucks Quil's gonna win" Embry challenged

Evy scoffs, "You're on"

They both watched the boys wrestle for a bit more before Quil was able to get the upper-hand and pinned Jacob down. Embry help his hand out smugly and Evelyn put the five dollars in his hand with a scowl on her face.

"Jacob you were supposed to win" she said with a fake unamused face. The three boy laughed and soon she joined in too.

Quil put an arm around her shoulder, "We like her Jake."

"Hey, Jake, Evy, you wanna go down to the beach"

Evelyn looked down at her watch and saw that she had training with Sam soon, " Sorry guys I gotta get going soon."

"Well alright then, we'll see ya soon Evy" they all waved at her and headed toward the woods leading to the beach.

Evelyn waited until they got a safe distance away before going into the woods, taking off her clothes, and phasing into her wolf. She grabbed her bag with her clothes with her mouth and ran towards Sam's house.

**Small Time Skip**

Evelyn finally reached the back of Sam's house and saw Sam, Paul, and Jared waiting there for her. She pahsed back to her human form and put her clothes back on before making herself known.

"There's the princess. How ya doing?" Paul said. Evelyn rolled her eyes at the nickname he gave her. There was a point in training where she got so frustrated with herself that she threw a small tantrum. Ever since then Paul has been calling her that nickname.

"I'm fine. Sorry I'm a bit late I was hanging out with someone" she replied

"It's fine. Let's get to training" Sam said. For the week she has been training she's been learning to fight in her wolf form which she now has mastered. But today and the days to come were going to be the hardest. Today she is going to learn how to use her healing powers.

***Time Skip***

For hours Sam has been having the two boys get hurt so that she could try her healing power on them. But to no avail. Sam sighed for the tenth time in a couple of hour when she tried again when she failed. But he suddenly got an idea. He walked to the two slightly beaten boys and told them to start a fake argument and to start fighting each other to see if that would trigger Evelyn's power. Sam then walked back up to Evelyn and told her to try again.

Evelyn kept trying again and again but she kept failing.

"Alright obviously this isn't working can we go now?" Paul spoke up

"Giver her a break man, she learning" Jared replied with an attitude

"Yea well I'm tired of getting hurt because she's learning" Paul replied back aggresively

Jared and Paul started to size each other up and then they both broke out into a huge fight. They both ended up phasing and Paul bit into Jared's shoulder before Sam finally spoke up and told them to stop. Evelyn looked on worried when Jared phased back with a look of pain on his face. She took a deep breath before walking up to him and looking at his hurt shoulder. She took another deep breath before hovering her hand over his injured shoulder, shutting her eyes, and put all of her focus on healing his shoulder. She felt the power surge out of her and then she opened her eyes and saw that Jared's injury was completely gone.

She let out a laugh of disbelief, "I did it!"

She looked around to see that Paul and Sam had smiles on their faces. Jared got up and high-fived Paul. Evelyn looked at them confused.

"It was all fake?" she asked in disbelief

"Yea sorry princess but it worked didn't it?" Paul chuckled

"You guys are assholes" Evelyn let out with a breathy laugh. All four of them started laughing and Evelyn felt so proud that she was now able to protect her pack.
