Chapter 9

Sam had picked Evelyn up from her house so that they could go patrolling that night. Sam kept glancing at Evelyn feeling the content radiating off of her. She was just staring out the window feeling Sam's stares.

"What?" she asked

"Oh nothin, I could just feel your happiness radiating off of you. What? You're happy to patrol for once?"

Evelyn laughed, "Never. I just feel like I'm finally getting the hang of things you know?"

"Well congrats, maybe you can actually focus for once" Sam joked which caused Evelyn to chuckle.

They pulled up to Sam's house and they got out of the car. She quickly went inside and greeted Emily with a hug.

"Ugghh god I missed your cooking" Evelyn said causing Emily to lightly laugh. Just then Jared and Paul walked in.

"Hey princess" Paul said and put an arm around her shoulder. Evelyn rolled her eyes and shrugged his arm off. Paul chuckled and grabbed a plate of food

They ate in silence for a bit before Jared spoke up, "So Evelyn, you and Jacob Black huh?"

"Uhhh no, we're just friends" Evelyn said

Jared scoffed, "Yea right. I saw the way you two were looking at each other. That's not how "just friends" look at each other"

Evelyn rolled her eyes and made her way to the sink and put her dish in there. She then went outside and started undressing down to her underwear and phased into her wolf. She heard Jared laugh and come outside along with Paul and Sam. They all phased and went on with their patrolling.

Paul and Evelyn were walking around Patrolling the woods when they saw something speed past them. Evelyn barked to grab Paul's attention before running after the thing. They saw three vampires there. They continued to chases after them before they again crossed the treaty boarder.

***Time Skip***

Evelyn had approached the Black once again and this time she was relieved to be here. Patrol this week had been a hassle for the four members of the pack and she was excited about the idea of hanging out with Jacob, Embry and Quil. She needed a chance to relax after chasing after the vampire hunters all week. And after all that chasing they still weren't able to get them

She saw Jacob with his back turned to her and sneaked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck from behind, "What cha doin?"

Jacob jumped in surprise but smiled when he realized it was Evelyn, "Nothin just trying to fix my future car"

"Well that's nice" Evelyn said with her arms still wrapped around him. They just stayed there for a few moments like that and Evelyn felt so content

"Well isn't this a sight" Quil said from behind them. Thy both jumped apart in surprise and Evelyn accidentally fell

The boy laughed while Jacob helped her up "Ha ha very funny" Evelyn rolled her eyes

"Oh relax we knew this would happen with you two" Jacob and Evelyn blushed and for some reason she wished what Embry was implying was true. But what she didn't know was that the feeling were mutual.

"Uuuhhh anyways, I came with some gifts" Evelyn brought out two boxes of pizza "Well not exactly gift because I technically used Embry's money that he lost in a bet"

Embry rolled his eyes remembering the day he lost fifteen dollars to bet him and Evelyn made. For the rest of the day the four of them kicked the soccer ball around and Evelyn never felt more relaxed than she felt right there. They were just making small talk but then for some unknown reason the Cullens were brought up.

"We're not allowed to see the Cullens. They're just not good people. Our families hate them." Quil said

Before she knew it Evy had to make her way back home. She hugged the three boys goodbye and went on her way.

***Time Skip***

The next weekend a thunderstorm and Edward had invited the Swan girls to a baseball game. Evelyn sat at the dining room table with her father when Bella came into the room.

"I have a date with Edward Cullen. Well more of a hang out because they invited Evy and his family is going to be there. " Bella randomly said

"Isn't he a little old for you?" Charlie asked

"Dad, he's a junior. I'm a junior" I thought you like the Cullens"

"I thought you didn't like any boys in town" he argued against her

"Edward doesn't live in town, technically" she weakly argued back

"He's right outside"

"He is?"

"Yea he wanted to meet you officially"

Charlie looked at the both of them, " Alright, bring him in" he said snapping his shot gun. Evy gave a chuckle to which Bel;a gave her a small glare

"Could you be nice? Please? He's...important" Bella said after flinching to which Charlie just replied with a making a fake halo around his head sarcastically

They both walked in looking a little nervous " Chief Swan, I want to formally introduce myself. I'm Edward Cullen. The girls won't be out too late. They're just going to be playing baseball with me and my family"

Charlie gave a small scoff, "Baseball?"

"Yes sir, that's the plan"

"These girls are going to play baseball.... good luck with that"

"I'll take good care of them, I promise" Edward tried to reassure

Bella gave Evy a face saying to head out and the three pf them walked out to Edward's car. She saw that it wasn't the regualr car that Edward drove. She assumed that it was one of his other siblings'.
