Moving In

I told Rin and Ann what had happened as we all moved in together. They were obviously shocked, but also very supportive.

Ann was especially excited that she was finally getting her own room for the first time in her life, and I was just excited to be surrounded by people who loved me. With the 3 bedrooms we had, Ann and Smii7y got their own, while Rin and I shared the biggest one.

My nightmares continued, but Rin pretended not to notice after I told her I felt bad for waking her up. Usually, I would just go get a drink to try to calm down, but sometimes Smii7y would come to comfort me after what I can only assume was Rin texting him to wake him up. She didn't do this all the time though, and I was thankful, because they were my problems to deal with, not Smii7y's.

After a week of living together, classes finally started and I finally had something to focus on. We all had different schedules, so most weekdays consisted just of work and passing by each other without saying much, but I was still so thankful. By 10pm, we usually all gathered to spend some time together, and it was so amazing to see the friendships forming between my friends and my boyfriend. Especially after Smii7y found out Rin was a lesbian, they had gotten along extremely well.

I continued going to therapy, although less frequently, but it still really helped me, and for the first time in a while, life felt manageable and I was happy.

One night, Rin made the decision that we were all going out together. We did go out together occasionally, but Rin was going to make sure we all partied hard this time. That night, I got dressed up in a nice two piece black dress that Smii7y complimented me on. Smii7y wore something much more casual, but he still looked great. Ann, who was not very comfortable dressing up, stayed in her usual hoodie and none of us mentioned it. Rin on the other hand went as extra as possible. She wore a sparkly crop top and her outfit made her look like she had just come back from Coachella, but she sure made it work.

We all walked to the party as it was only a few blocks away. Rin already dancing down the street in excitement as Ann laughed with her. Smii7y and I walked hand in hand behind them, laughing as well.

"Is Lena coming?" I asked Ann. Lena was her girlfriend for the past year or so. I didn't know her too well as she rarely spent time with the group, but I was still happy that Ann was happy with her.

"I'm not sure, she never answered my text," Ann responded. I could feel Rin roll her eyes. Rin never liked Lena and she insisted that their relationship would end badly, but she never said this to Ann, just to me in private.

By time we got to the party, there was already drunk college kids all over the place. Rin wasted no time downing whatever alcohol she could find first, and immediately dragged Ann to go dance with her. Smii7y and I spent some time going around and talking to people. I introduced him to the few people I did know, and we met some new people too. About an hour in, some guy came and introduced himself to the both of us as Cole, and Smii7y hit it off with him right away. As they talked and laughed together, I excused myself to go find Rin and Ann.

Rin was not hard to find. She was dancing with a group of other drunk students. As I watched with a smile, I saw Ann wave to me from the corner of my eye.

"What's up?" I had to almost yell to Ann over the noise.

"Nothing," Ann shouted back, looking kind of down.

"Lena isn't coming?" I asked. She shook her head in response.

Just then, Rin came up behind us.

"What are you guys talking about?" She asked. Her words came out all in a rush.

"Lena's not here," I answered. Rin looked confused.

"No, I just saw her like 10 minutes ago. Maybe she can't find you?" Ann perked up at the news.

"Let's split up and look for her," I suggested. "Meet back here in 5."

We all went our separate ways looking for Ann's girlfriend. The first person I found was Smii7y though, surrounded by Cole and some new friends. I went up behind him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Hey, how's it going?" I asked in his ear.

"Good," he said hanging on to my arms. "How about you?"

"Just looking for Lena," I said smiling at him. He wished me luck and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before going back to his conversation. I turned away with a smile and headed upstairs.

The next person I found was Rin, who's great mood had faded.

"What's wrong?" I asked her with concern.

"I found Lena." She pointed out the window and into the backyard where Lena was with another girl.

"So what's wrong?" I asked Rin.

"I saw them kiss, Miki." My mood deflated too. Just as we looked back outside, Ann walked into the backyard and saw what was happening. Lena looked surprised, but Ann turned around and walked away, clearly upset.

Rin and I looked at eachother, and then ran down the stairs after Ann.

She wasn't anywhere to be seen, and navigating the house wasn't exactly easy with the amount of drunks in it.

We shouted her name as we pushed through the crowd. Once we were out the front door, we saw her walking down the street, back in the direction of our house.

"Ann!" We both yelled chasing after her.

When we caught up to her, there was tears streaming down her face. Before anyone could say anything, Smii7y had ran and caught up with us and he asked what had happened. His question caused even more tears to flow, so I pulled him behind and explained while Rin comforted her.

When we got back to the house, Rin and Ann went into Ann's room to talk. Smii7y and I went into his room to give them some space.

"I feel really bad for her," he said sadly. I nodded quietly with my head down.

"Are you okay, Miki?" He asked coming closer to me and lifting my head with his hand.

I could feel and panic attack starting but I tried to push it down.

"It's a trigger," is all I said and he nodded.

I didn't want a panic attack to come over me, so I forced myself to focus on something else. I went to kiss Smii7y who smelled faintly of alcohol, but I knew it would all be okay.

The kiss was long and passionate, and after it was over we did it again and again and again.

The next morning I woke up in his bed with him, a smile on my face, and everything felt perfect.
