Chapter 1: Mirror Misuse - Year 3

Something quite peculiar happened during your Divination class, it's best to explain from the beginning. Your friends Cho Chang and Luna Lovegood were puzzled by the scene before them. In turn, you felt your face scrunch a little when you see a certain Slytherin boy march into the classroom as if he owned the place.

It was quite obvious that you disliked the very boisterous Draco Malfoy. A bit of context: your parents own their very own shop right down Diagon Alley and before the school year, the Malfoys paid a visit there. As much as you wished to avoid Draco, your parents insisted that you help him out with whatever he needed because his father, Lucius Malfoy, was a frequent customer. Long story short: they left empty-handed as well as a bad review on your shop. Well, it wasn't your fault he kept bugging you about customer service.

"Hello, [Y/N] [L/N]," Draco sneers as he sees you and your two friends. "I just realized that we have the same Divination class together, you're always unnoticeable."

"I see that you're in a good mood, Malfoy." You replied with the same attitude. "Did your father finally buy feelings for you?"

The blond rolls his eyes, "I've never seen a Pureblood as lame as you. And I'm complementing Weasley!" There was a sharp laugh from him before he walked towards the Slytherin side of the room.

You can feel anger starting to bubble within you but Cho pats your shoulder calmingly, "Ignore him, [Y/N]. He's too stubborn for his own good."

"I can tell he is interested in her," Luna says softly as her gaze wanders all over the classroom. "There's always something in the air whenever [Y/N] and Draco interact with each other."

Your shoulders dropped in defeat and you made your way towards the Ravenclaw side of the classroom. You didn't have the energy to talk back to Luna, this was probably the hundredth time she's said this and you just got used to it. Cho also sighed at her comment and the three of you were back focusing on the class.

Professor Trelawny promises that this lesson would be the most exciting one yet, her eyes were sparkling behind those big rounded glasses. To your surprise, she tugs a large cloth drape from an equally large enchanted mirror, it looked quite old. She explains how she is going to contact a future Hogwarts student, for Divination purposes, of course.

A few minutes of watching Professor Trelawny fiddle and wack at the mirror, there was a series of static (as you would see in the muggle invention; the television) and then the image of a boy. There were gasps of awe in the classroom and the woman stands proudly beside the mirror, the person inside it was indeed a student in Hogwarts.

Looking at the boy closely, he was fairly tall and you assumed that he is currently (futuristically) in his fourth year. There was something you found familiar in the boy's facial features; his grey eyes and small smile rang a distant bell in your head. His arms are crossed over his chest as he glances around at the class.

"Hey, everyone. My name is Augustus, I am a part of the Slytherin house," The student says proudly and there was a short cheer from the group of said house. "I would like to tell all of you that the year is twenty-"

"Ah!" Professor Trelawny stops him from continuing. "We must not say anything that may disrupt the timelines. It's best if we don't know, better be safe!"

"My apologies," Augustus laughs lightly. "Can I ask what year is this?"

"1993," The woman responds and the student nods in fascination. Then, she turns to the whole class, "Now, what we have to do is ask questions. However, we have to be careful about the consequences of the answers. Which is why Augustus must be very careful with his wording."
