"GOT any lock on the location of your sis?" Logan asked, tossing me a beer from my mini fridge.

"Nothing. But what I do know is that she is in this state. That narrows down the scale." I said, checking out all the parts of New York we could find her.

Even though it sounds simple, it's way harder than we think. Star is a small girl in this state of 141,300 km square. We still need to be educated, and using weapons was illegal!

I tried to ignore that and join Logan for breakfast. He insisted that he make it today because he was excited to use the many different foods. I sat at the bar table because it gave me serious nostalgia to when Logan and I first met at the bar.

I had just hit 1000, and because my parents couldn't care to throw me a party I had my own. I didn't have friends and I didn't care. But Logan was the type of guy who was the typical badass demon, but at the same time full of humor and comforting words. He might've gotten it from past experiences, I thought while he cooked.

He placed a plate with a round, flat, brown dough -covered in a darker brown liquid and above them a couple blue small spheres.

I looked at it, then back at him.

"What is that?" I asked with disgust.

"Just try it! You'll love it." Logan said.

"No hoe."

"I swear you'll love it-"

"I'm not eating that."

Logan picked up a piece of it with a fork and fed it to me. I reluctantly chewed the food and it actually tasted...normal. It didn't taste like semi-crunchy mush. It had a different flavour. It made me feel a rush of life. I scarfed down the rest of the food and burped loudly. I never tasted anything so good in so long.

"You're welcome." Logan said, pleased.

"Okay, okay." I said.

"So when do we go back into school?" he asked, placing the plate on the ground.

"It's undetermined until James gives the all clear of our portal. He's making sure anyone who uses it before we return to hell can't get to earth."

"He can do that?"

"Apparently."

"Okay...so what do you wanna do?"

"I was thinking that we get a good look at this place...y'know, to get used to it and stuff."

"Sounds awesome I'll spend the next hour in the shower."

Logan left the room, which left me alone, looking out to the city once more. It was less lively than last night, but it was still busy. Says a lot.
